:D :D

On a hill here too and house is on low-set piers so it is not flooded inside - assuming the remaining foundations for the brick veneer hold :( should be OK.

Boonah Alert on the Teviot Brook has just gone Major, ie above 6m.  It was 0.15 at noon and it's still f'ing raining.

Before it went dark here I could see the main Boonah-Ipswich rd from "our" hill & it was cut.  So the worry is smokes - we have under 2 packs of 30 and might not be able to get into town tomorrow.  And the beer's running low.  Bollox.

Tweed Valley way is now cut and if it can just hold out to Tuesday I can skip out on work and still get paid. It would be just the Australian way to look for a paid day off that doesn't come from leave entitlements.

Its the wind (65 average gusting to holy .... is the roof still on) that is giving us grief. I've lost a tree in the front yard, well it's not lost its just laying down.

A cruel story - Ash came over and we ordered pizza and got the kid to home deliver, watching the poor little ....... get out of the car and bring us the pizza was terrible, the kid got soaked and I felt really bad. Nearly.

Ash delivered smokes and I have red wine stored up for such an occasion - like now.

The rain hasn't even slowed the whole day. I spent the entire day in my pyjamas. Apparently I get a sloth badge from the Church of Loaves and Fishes now. The badge says "God hates lazy cnts" - but if pizza and red are bad then hell it will be.

Wind here is not quite so bad - no local weather station, but from my years of paragliding I'd guess at 45kph, gusting 80 and due to increase.  Luckily here we have to build for high winds being so close to the Range, so hopefully the roof'll stay put!!  Luckily we just (last week) cut down all the big trees close to the house - any damage from the one taking a nap in your yard?

The rain still hasn't slowed here, so I guess it'll be quite a while before it does for you.  Shame Mt Staplyton radar has been down since 18:00 - hard to get a clear picture of what's happening now.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Stale.

Worn out.

What's with the "Well, it's easy..." ? Your syntax is slipping.

Do you suffer from hemorrhoids?

I see some beating around the bush type of answer here, very similar to 2009 when Stoner was making up the excuse of his mysterious illness, he was all over the place giving beating around the bush type of answer...

Hope we do not see some racing fans following the example set by Stoner here, running away and hiding from challenges here..... Stoner is a bad role model...

No Australian i know has lost any respect for Casey, if you knew his history and what he has been through no way you would call him a coward. I really wanna hate this .... KOO guy, but ive not had this much fun since Pinky was on here, or the time Talpa tried telling everyone that Rossi Move at Laguna 08 was fair and within the rules......

You are in the minority group,...most of the Aussies lost respect for Stoner.

No sane person will respect a rider who runs away and hide from challenges to ensure that his unofficial title of best of the generation remains intact....thats lame and cowardly.

The Council magically appeared in this weather and took my tree. I wouldn't even go outside.

When I was a real emergency service person and not an intel weeny I used to go out in weather like this, to look tough I wore no raincoat and always had a soaked rollie in the mouth, it was quite an image, although the only people impressed with it was myself and a couple of really ugly buck toothed lesbians who in the middle of looking brave asked if I would mind their dog.

Anyhoo moving forwards.

The cap blew off my chimney and now every ....... towel in my house is on the kitchen floor and I have to make a squidgy sound to get a cup of tea. Boy its tough!

Wind is averaging 56 at Tweed and 70 at Cape Byron. I am laughing to myself at all those Scandinavian backpacker in their tents at Byron "Vich vay to Byron Bay?" Hows that going for you now?

And its still raining, though it should back off. The wind is the problem, I have to turn the stereo up so much easy listening becomes doof party. A man dressed as a moose knocked n my door before (in this weather) and offered me some ecstasy for the doof.

I kept his hat. I am going to join someone's drug abuse forum today as "The Moose of Park Avenue".

Well, made it into town so now have smokes and beer.  Also lots of photos of flooded stuff both north & south of town.  Met some mates who'd walked in from the south and they'd seen some f-wit who had been heading for town and had driven into the flood water with a MPV full of kids & got stuck.  They called the SES for them, but when they got a bit closer to town (walking through the paddocks) they realised there was a problem and it looked like this : flood-road-flood.  So neither the SES tinny, nor their FWD was going to get to them from town.  Why are people so stupid?

Wind has backed right off here now as has the rain - just getting one or two squalls through every now and again.  I can hear the grass growing in the paddock & doutless we'll be having a week of thunderstorms after all that rain.  God knows when we'll get the water out of the holes and the concrete in.  Ho hum.

Got some great photos as well, I might kick off a bushfire one day biblical flood the next thread, they have evacuated south Murwillumbah and its still pissing down. Should stop soon, I am cut off from Tweed but they have already said, "work at Murwillumbah and do the phones". .......s.

Well if you will live/work in the middle of a ....-off great big extinct volcano, ya gotta expect a bit of weather every now and again... :)

Looking at Google Maps, it seems to be a great little catchment area you've got... Sou'Easters on one side and mountains to hold it back on the other...

Tornadoes too! You got it all...
