Fabio was mentally demolished at the end of the session. The race simulations are good but when it comes to setting a fast lap in the last minutes, the Yamaha hits a wall.

Forget about dicking around with helmets, get that bike competitive first !!!

Interesting second session. Rins a few spots in front of MM, Fabio back to nowhere. Love him or not, Bagnaia finding his way to the front when it counts (today sort of counts.) Not bad for Bastiannini‘s first day back on the job.

What an awesome track on a beautiful day.
Fabio had is lap cancelled for some reason. He wasn't headed towards the top, imo, but it should have been a respectable time. He was .3 off after 2 sectors IIRC.

Well, I guess Rins is game again this weekend. He only goes well at circuits with long straights or something? Who knows. Most random performer in MotoGP, imo.

Pecco looking good despite the injury. They did a good job of covering it up before the weekend began. I had no idea he was injured at LeMans. It was a beautiful day on track, and the riders were treating it like a Sunday drive. Thankfully, all of the action was crammed into the last 6-7 minutes of the session. Disappointed to see Mav miss out and Aleix in 9th, but Binder and Rins are doing well. We need something to break up the march of the Ducatis.

Weather forecast still says questionable weather is coming, but it definitely didn't arrive today. Sprint is supposed to be a wet race, but the GP should be dry. Could get interesting tomorrow. Hopefully, everyone will make it through okay. Definitely going to be some nut jobs letting their ambition outweigh their talents on Saturday, imo.

This will always be the best quote of motogp. Honorable mention goes to when NH called Bautista the spanish bowling ball.

Injury situation
  • Mir out
  • Pol wasn't ready, the team will have to wait and by the sounds of it several weeks yet
  • Bastainini doing fantastic on his return
  • Marini straight to Q2 despite his wrist injury, we shall see if he makes it to the races
  • Aleix E straight to Q2 despite the heal injury
Who did I miss on this list?

Quali's over, Pecco predictably gets P1 despite behaving like a little bitch and becoming more unlikable in every race. The Marquez bros occupy the remaining front row positions. Quartararo in P15 will have a tall order in both races.

Dorna is enabling Prosecco Bagnia's behavior. They are creating a monster. He never gets punished for anything. Crash a car drunk driving, sweep it under the table. Get in a fight in the gravel trap, bury it in sand. He is becoming worse than Max Verstrappon.

Sprint's over, both KTMs took it to their hands to ruin the races of both Marquez bros, with worse consequences for Alex and Brad. Early rain threat made the early race chaotic but soon it turned processional with Pecco winning it like he likes, in the lead for most of the race. Bezz did well recovering from the 6th position to score a 2nd, keeping his credible championship aspirations on. Ducati occupied the first 5 positions, with Enea filling the top 10; the gap with other brands is widening, worrisome signs for parity. Marc couldn't recover from Miller's lunge but 7th is respectable given the track doesn't suit an already weak Honda. Rins taken to the hospital so there might be only 2 Hondas starting tomorrow. KTM could've gotten better results if the two factory riders kept the boneheadedness to a minimum; they gotta realize this is the sprint race, not the full race. Bastianini did well with a solid 9th after so much time out of action. Quartararo performed his usual climbing again but not enough to get into the points. Aleix best Aprilia in 8th.

Tomorrow looks like it will be another Ducati festival, and the only thing preventing another Pecco victory is himself and/or Bezzechi.

Sprint race was actioned packed. First 5 places on Ducati’s and the other 3 Ducati’s were a crash, a returning from injury and an under performing rider

Miller put up a strong fight loosing places a couple of times then regaining places to be the fastest non Ducati rider in 6th

Shame about Rin’s broken leg

I think Jack wrecked both his and MM’s chances of finishing higher, the clash put both of them behind Ducatis which they can’t get back past on this track.

Dorna’s equalisation formula is working well, the 8 Ducatis do look fairly even.

As long as nobody gets hurt in the sprint race, I'm going with an all Ducati Podium. Not sure what order but Bags, Martin & Bez. Would love to see Enea up there but that's asking a lot.

Speaking of Ducati, I really liked their yellow livery in WSBK.

Did not age well (and not having a go at you PRS)

Again we lose a rider for multiple races due to the stupidity of a sprint race that is all about dollars and cents for DORNA.

The Ducati Cup is alive and well with two divisions.

One called WSBK and the second called MotoGP

Cannot wait for the Ducati Moto3 cup to start

And all that is stated while fully acknowledging that at least they are investing in the sport by building, developing and making available machinery for so many riders

Ducati may well be the dominate bike for quite some time as they are gathering and sharing data thru the 8 riders. Yamaha only has 2 riders while it appears that Honda doesn't do much sharing between teams. KTM or Aprilia are probably somewhere in-between at a guess

Not sure if the published grid will be as it states, A Marquez has been given the 3 position grid penalty, which wasn't applied to the sprint moving Miller into 3rd on the grid etc etc but the reinstated lap of Marini's that was applied to the sprint hasn't been applied to race and I'm assuming it will, which will put Marini 3rd on the grid.
