Dovi seems confident about his future. And rightfully so, without those incidents I say he would have two seconds and a third. Would be ahead of all but MM. Unfortunately it's don't count

Can't help but feel for Dovi. Was good to see Pedrosa apologise with his helmet off. That turn 1 sure looks like an extra challenge to the front end in how the elevation runs.

Looks like Marquez is showing clear signs of being able to find the limit of the Michelin rubber and ride just under that for a whole race without a major change to his riding style. His confidence must be soaring after that race.

It was a shame there wasn't more passing going on at the front. Like Stoner at the Island though, it is still something very special to see a rider so in tune with a track that they appear virtually unbeatable.

Whole not at the level of say Stoner, I have always been impressed with Dovi, and I feel he deserves his ride. He definitely has a lot more heart than most. I can't remember any other riders buying their own parts...

I'm intrigued by this, care to explain?

I believe, at Tech 3, he bought the factory brake calipers because he felt that they offered an advantage (and Poncharal claimed that T3 couldn't afford them).

If Pedrosa broke Dovi's leg on that torpedo, it might not have been the worst thing to happen.

With Pirro riding for Pramac, we probably would have seen Stoner.

Too bad.

He did, to the tune of 50,000€. Cal, his teammate, went ballistic because iirc, he said "we're not club racers, and shouldn't have to buy our own parts." In the end he ended up with them. No one ever said if Herve relented or Cal did and bought them.

Someone getting hurt like that is never a good thing. Dovi is not young, a broken leg at his age and his career could be seriously compromised.

Generally one expects the pace to be as fast or better than the previous year. It's just a bad sign when the bikes get better but the times are slower. Naturally - there is some sense of dissatisfaction when the whole field has to slow down to keep the shiny side up. With riders who virtually never crash going down left and right you know the results are artificially skewed and you didn't see the race that could have been.

Didn't we expect a year of growing pains?

I would have been more surprised had the Bibs been perfect out off the box.

We got some awesome photos can't get them.on here off my phone though :(

Try installing tapatalk and signing into the forum through that. It works brilliantly on iPhones and iPads. I think it's also available on android too.

The MotoAmerica superbike race after the GP race was the best race of the weekend.

agreed. Elias showing the gap between USA and the world.

Corti and Herrin fight was amazing. Corti down on horsepower on his Ape against the strong R1!

Hi gramps, I see you're as miserable as ever. :D Oh yes, the legacy is real and will be cemented yet again after the 10th. Valentino loves you.

Still certain he will deliver the 10th? ;)

Shut up you ....... clown.

Your nearly as bad as Barry.... another ....... forum clown.

I don't cry clown .... you keep it up I love your unbiased bollocking

Get a room you two.

Holy ....! Pedro takes out Dovi!

Thank goodness he only hit his back wheel, that was a Neukirchner incident all over again.

That's uncalled for JPS, I know you love Stoner but don't be an ....... and wish other riders injured just to get him back on track.

Dovi has to be the unluckiest rider this year, he already has the title sewn up! Twice he has been taken out from podium positions in 7 days. If it werent for that he'd be 2nd in the championship right now. I'm eating a huge crow on my predictions of him, he deserves another yr at Ducati.

I'm not a Rossi fan but was glad he was ok too, was a very rare error for him.

Tell me where I said I wish.

I said had it happened it wouldn't have been the worst thing thing... And it certainly wouldn't have been. Everyone here save a few would have been ecstatic in the long run while offering some ........ platitudes about Dovizioso. I just happen to be the only one saying it. Don't have to like it. Doesn't make it any less true.

I'm a bit more pragmatic than most here and there's an opportunity waiting around every corner one way or another.

You essentially said it was "too bad" that Dovi's leg didn't get broken so that Stoner could take his spot. You're probably the only one here that would have been ecstatic if that happened.

Teething problems were inevitable. I'd intuited that Michelin were not going to produce anything as good as the Bridgestones right off the bat; that said I can't help resenting the degree to which they were unprepared. Waited all winter for the season to recommence and now it's here and it sucks to see how hobbled the riders are by the new rubber. Moreover - with all the front end wash outs and exploding rears - I can't help being concerned about the possibility the championship being decided due to a rider taken out of contention via injury due to Michelin's ill-preparedness.

What if Marquez gets a blowout and takes out Lorenzo leaving them both seriously injured resulting in a tenth championship for Vale? We'd be drowning in Boppers here for the next decade. And we'd be left behind picking up the pieces of at least four exploded heads.

Ahhhh this forum always brings a smile, I mainly read it because it's the most active place I can read on motogp aside from Reddit.

All in all the weekend was really interesting, the race kind of fell flat I find a lonely 1-2-3 makes for a pretty uneventful race. Thanks Vinales and Esparago for the little show behind though!

It's funny because Rossi proved this forum wrong once again (2nd weekend in a row this happens) he took his fall like a man, admited to his mistakes and was pretty rational in his thinking. Too bad he did not throw you guys the bone you were wishing for ;)

On a side note, I'm happy to see the Ducati being constantly competitive since the season start. The suzuki seems to have some potential aswell! The hondas I get a mixed feeling, I guess Marquez is just the alien of the aliens because he makes that bike so damn fast it's insane!

Let's see how europe turns out :)
