MotoGP 2014 Round 6 - Mugello, Italy

Well faaaack, looks like FP2 is a washout. The one and only chance of rain this weekend, and it happens right before GP practice

FP2
Thought Nicky was going to pull it off, but was nipped by Pirro as time ran out. At least he beat his team mate.

With the allowance of the larger rotors, might we see an assault on the all time official top speed of 217.1. Ianonne pulled 215.74 this morning as Ducati]s took the top 4 places on the speed chart with their new engine. Turn em loose boys, you have plenty of engines. Give yourself something to brag about.

on kropos site, his article reckons brembo has data showing over 360kmh, and that it is more than likely more accurate than dornas trap speeds. that is just ....... crazy fast!

Excuse me while i go jerk off. Thats what makes me want to go to a race track. Speeds that even someone who has gone fast on a bike cant fathom, much less fathom whoaing it down in 100 yards to make a 50 moh corner.

Its funny what the brain does when you are doing something unusually stupid. Whenever i do top end runs on my bike, it is wailing like a banshee. But at about 170 up to 190, the brains shuts down non vital senses like hearing. Its like you break into a different dimension and everything goes completely quiet. Once you let off and things start getting back to normal, you get this warm rush throughout your body, kind of like you pissed yourself, but all over. These guys do it in half the time, then have the rear wheel lifting off the ground like its a stroll through the park. I think that is one of the reasons bike racing has such a hard time gaining popularity, is a lot of the fans just cannot appreciate the amount of skill and balls it takes to make these machine do what they do.

Looks like Rossi is getting irritated at thinking he is close to Marquez, only to have Marquez bust off a lap just to show that ive got you covered. He can rationalize all he wants, he is 4 tenths down any time Marquez wants him to be 4 tenths down it seems.

2014 Mugello MotoGP Friday Round Up: On Wasted Sessions, A Feisty Rossi, And American Joy And Despair | MotoMatters.com | Kropotkin Thinks

The wasted afternoon session left Marc Marquez – who else? – on the top of the timesheets. It had not looked that way for much of the session. Valentino Rossi had led the way from early on, Marquez only taking over in the front towards the end. For Marquez, this was a conscious strategy. After his massive crash at Mugello on the first day of practice last year, he and his team had decided to start a little more slowly, and build pace more steadily. Because of the nature of Mugello, he had been forced to work on being more smooth. It worked, Marquez pulling out an advantage of nearly four tenths of a second over Rossi by the end.

This was not the real gap, Valentino Rossi protested. His reading of the lap chart was that you had to compare the last lap which Rossi did – a 1'48.5 – with the last lap Marquez did, a 1'48.4. That, Rossi insisted, was what he was down on Marquez, and he felt he could close that gap. A measure of just how much Rossi believes he can take on Marquez was his response to questions about the dominance of the Spaniard. At previous races, Rossi simply laughed them off, acknowledging he was powerless to stop Marquez. At Mugello, Rossi showed the first signs of irritation at such questions and comparisons between Marquez and himself in his younger years.

not to take anything from mm, but he pulled out of iannones slipstream on that time, but thats neither here nor there, he is still the quicker rider regardless. although, vr's self belief at the moment is comendable. he throughly believes he can beat marquez here, which i think will be great for the race!

FP3 was good....
- Dani is waking up
- JLo has worked out the tires it seems
- Rossi hasnt improved....but still fast...
- MM couldnt improve which cant be good for him

and
Limp wristed Hayden has pulled out of the weekend...lets hope he can make Cataluyna

Is there Anybody who thinks the new DORNA rules haven't totally ...... up the Yamaha's?
I mean come on.

All I wanted was to see a continuation of the battles we had last year. This is ....... GAY!

No doubt if anybody passed MM he would have just stepped up the pace. The bikes are not even close

The bikes without Marc Marquez on them are very close, and Rossi is running much better than last year. Lorenzo has had a nervous breakdown over the new tires, and Rossi likes them better. So no, they have not totally ...... up the Yamaha, they have totally ...... up George's head.

Well im sure you'd love to go jerk off at the track, but too bad you're boycotting MotoGP...remember.
