MotoGP 2014 Round 10 - Indianapolis, USA

So jealous! Really wishing we had gotten the pit passes. Though at this point, my husband hasn't washed the Rossi shirt he bought on Sunday (said he's not going to until the season is over) so I can't imagine what I would be dealing with if Rossi actually shook his hand.

Pit Pass was well worth the money, at least for saturday. I got Rossi's autograph and Jorge's. Rossi actually took my hand out of my hand, signed it and handed it back to me.

We sat in the SW.Vista. Great seats with lots of action. During saturday we watched FP along the front straight and afternoon practice on the grassy hill at turn 10.

I'll admit, I wasn't sure how the weekend would go but everyone was super nice and the event was spectacular. We have nothing like this in Canada I can say that. Even the F1 race is lame compared to MotoGP at the Brickyard.

I've been to several MotoGP events in a couple of countries. I've been to all three US venues and nobody puts on an event better than Indy. Indy is used to hosting much larger more prestigious events. It show's! They know exactly how to make an event friendly and convenient for fans. I only wish the circuit for bikes was more interesting but in terms of progressional organization, Indy is at the very top of the list.

And, the city doesnt gouge the fan. The nice clean motel rooms that cost 89 bucks in Feb, cost 89 bucks race week. Laguna and Austin need to take note.

Levi, not sure if you were there this year, but the new layout is wonderful, if only it had some elevation changes, it would be world class. The place looked great in person and it showed well on TV when i watched the replay.

I didn't make it this year. Watched the race live on my laptop from a hotel room in San Fran. It certainly looks like a better track. It's still an "infield" race course that doesn't lend itself to some of the nicer walking spots that Austin and Laguna have. It's just not my favorite venue but I'll always admire the organizers and the city for how much effort they put into hosting it.

Austin was one of the most expensive rip off events that I've ever been to of any kind. Everything was a complete rip off. I'm not cheap either. I make great money and have no kids so I'm perfectly willing to spend lots of it but getting things shoved up my ... for no reason pisses me off! I will return to Austin I'm sure but next time I'll be prepared to lie cheat and steal as much from them as I can. Austin was expensive and needlessly inconvenient at almost every turn.
