Introduction
Located 30km north-east of Florence in the beautiful countryside of Tuscany, Mugello is a modern circuit with excellent facilities. Bought by Ferrari back in 1988, the 5.245km track has been renovated to a high standard and has a growing reputation as one of the world’s most up-to-date, scenic and safest race circuits.

A blend of slow and fast turns with sweeping curves, long straights and off-camber corners make Mugello one of the most challenging circuits for the riders and engineers. Having hosted its first MotoGP event back in 1976 the venue became a permanent fixture in 1991 after extensive refurbishment. Set within a beautiful tree lined Tuscan valley, Mugello also offers ample viewing areas for a particularly boisterous and partisan Italian crowd.

JL unbeaten here since 2010 gotta give him a bit of a boost... 93's only race crash here last year so he's gonna want to sort that out with a win. VR heading home on strong recent form and great record here in the past. DP.....nevermind

Today, from Rossi:

"It is 25-points like the other races but Mugello is a question of honour because it is one of my favourite tracks. Jorge has won the last three races on a Yamaha with some fantastic races, which means the M1 is very competitive at Mugello. I know with Marc and the Hondas it will be very, very difficult but we have to try. Marc is clearly at the top and I wish I could fight with him when I was 22. But it is a good motivation and to try and beat him."

2. Marquez - crashes 3 times & still takes 2nd.

HAHA, this cracked me up!

This is really what i'll be watching for. If Lorenzo goes out there, THIS season, and looks horrendous, it really tells everyone all they need know about the current state of Yamaha, and Lorenzo's brain function. How the heck could a rider be so dominate at a circuit for multiple years, then step off a cliff? With that said, i'll be shocked if someone can beat MM, barring some low side crash out.

1. Valentino ...he is unbeatable in a fight at the end of the race in Mugello...
2. Marc Marquez ...Sorry Bro you're amazing but this is still Rossi Land!
3. Lorenzo ...well the Yamaha works quite well in Mugello!

Totally agree BUT if you haven't figured this out by now your in a state of denial.

Well, clearly he's in trouble, no doubt about that. I guess my comment was questioning to what degree? At his current trajectory, he'll either not have a factory seat, or be out of the sport in three years. That's where the State of Denial starts to kick in. Witnessing the change from World Champ, Warrior-Like performances, shear determination, and losing the Championship by 4 points last season last season, to now watching a tragic slide into oblivion... I can't accept what I'm seeing as reality.

Rossi: ‘Victory at Mugello is a matter of honour’

Valentino Rossi’s first home race of the year and the 300th of his career, at the Gran Premio d'Italia TIM. Today, from Rossi (emphasis added):

Valentino Rossi said:
I am very happy to go to Mugello,” comments The Doctor. “This is a beautiful track and I like it so much. There are always 25 points as the other races, but Mugello is a matter of honour. Jorge (Lorenzo) has won the last three years on the Yamaha, doing fantastic races, and this means that the M1 is very competitive on this track. It will be my 300th GP this weekend and for that I am not very happy because it means that I'm old! But I'm happy because I am in good shape and I can still be very fast.

The back of VR's leathers: #thisisforsic58. Im getting the distinct impression that Valentino is either going to win it or bin it. He wants this race more than anything. :)
