So, 3 victories in a row !!

Very congratulations for Casey Stoner, the man is phenomenal!

Well, 85 points ahead and only 125 to go.
<

Now things got much easier.

Rossi, now thou throw the towel?
<

-----------------------------------------------------------

IMO Casey is as good as Rossi, with no doubts.

Rossi that, Rossi these, Rossi there...

Rossi wins a lot of races but what race does Rossi win with a poor package??

Just look at now, if Rossi was magic he would be winning much more races even with that package.

ALL seasons Rossi dominated was with a winning package.

Who is power enough to win a race with problems?

If Stoner is winning because the package then the package is winning thanks to Stoner

else if Stoner is winning only because the package then Rossi is not better than Stoner, given he is doing NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING without a good package.

Nope. That's still Freddie Spencer who was born 20th Dec 1961 and won the 1983 season. Stoner was born 16th Oct 1985.

that must rank as the closest and most hard fought seasons ever heard of

to win by only two points after Freddie and Kenny both shared equal wins and poles.

Unfortunatly wasnt old or wise enough to be able to view whole season first hand . must have been thrilling.

It was an amazing season and the one that got me into bike racing in the first place.

Yeah Freddie was good in those days especially when he won the WC’p in 83 he was riding the triple v Honda ....but in his later years the Honda was the best package and superior bike (especially the v4 nsr) in comparison to the Yamaha, Suzuki packages that were going around and even though the Honda advantage was around the Yamaha did give the Honda a run for its money nearly every race, Freddie and the Rothmans Honda team in the 500's were just as superior as Casey and the Ducati team is in 2007!

NS500 triple....great bike!!!

Great respect for Stoner, but he aint a great rider

Its because his Ducati is kitt from Knight Rider (80'S TV series) which has artificial intelligence & rides itself.......
Look the ducati is a great bike but someone has to ride the bloody thing. I think he deserves some credit..
8 race wins

The mighty Yamaha YZR500's of the 80ties

And the YZR-OWC1...

Ok Alex

<
...what are your benchmarks for a great rider?...and please don’t go off the topic with personality like or dislikes, as Casey is right up there with the best of them!!!...you have to be kidding me?...just as an example, have a look at Freddie Spencers second year stats in the 500’s, mind you he won the ’83 WC’p and then in ’84 he came 4th?...so please tell me what you consider a great rider?

I agree, i would love to know where Stoner would put Rossi poor yamaha every race and i know it would be farther back in my opinion.

Typical whinging poms ... you wouldn't know a good rider if you saw one ... probably because you don't ever see them in your country ... well none that hale from your shores!

Before anyone jumps down my throat ... I have every right to say that when ridiculous comments like these are posted here!

Ducati have patents in place that make Desmo valves essentially out of the question for other manufacturers. Pneumatics are the way forward.

Can't remember the name of the factory, but it's a European car maker from whom Ducati copied the "Desmo" design. So actually, it's not theirs exclusively.

125 & 250s were well worth watching.

But 800s, yawn may aswell just record one race & watch it for the rest of the season.

Hmmm, with the exception of a few antics in the earlier stages of both the races, it was basically a case of a runaway win for Pasini in the 125's & once Dovi's bike died ( albeit as he was already losing touch ) Jorge walked away with the 250 race.

So why were those races any different to the MotoGP race?
<

One thing I do remember was the couple of impressive highsides in the 250 race... OUCH!!

It seems like we just watched this race earlier this season.
BTW to throw a little gas on the French Fire, anyone catch Hoppers comments on RdP?

I missed it. Please quote it here if you would. I'd love to know what he said about the Flyin' Frog.

Indeed, but ducati have got patents on technology that is fundamental to the competative use of Desmo valves in performance engines, making it extremely dificult for another factory to implement them successfully. Don't expect to see another bike run desmo valves any time soon.

Well Hopper just said that its typical of what the

"flying frog...RdP"

has been doing since he joined the top class and he’s not surprised at what happened...and then Hopper sort of changed his tune as he realised exactly what he was saying..

Couldn't agree more Krusty - 8 wins so far this season, total domination by 1 rider/package and he's still ....? I'm sure some of you guys watch different races or are just plain stupid.

I think that CV has put an end to his mid pack dry pace and stepped up to the front runners, and he looks comfortable!
<

If CV could just qualify that little bit better he'd be at the front most races! Damn I wish I was going to the Island this year - see the new world champion and CV fighting right at the front! Gonna be a huge crowd there this year.
