Assen TT - Rnd 8 2015 - SPOILERS

As was brought up earlier, from the overhead, it has clear was was going in way too hot to make the corner. I figure Vale figured it could happen and made sure he had an escape. If Marc would have taken the corner as he were actually racing, I doubt Vale would've ran off.

I think a bit got lost in translation, allow me to explain what he meant:
At this point, he doesn't have to say it, everyone knows what be really means.
Maybe he should started putting little stickers on his bike for every attack he does, a la fighter pilots.

Zoot was a really smart guy and had an encyclopedic knowledge of racing - which apparently - was too threatening for members who always need to be in the spotlight. People who want to come here to talk about racing shouldn't have to endure some idiotic frat-house hazing in order to be accepted by those who elected themselves the forum elders by virtue of longevity or pure verbosity.

A well reasoned post Kesh, but I have to disagree with you about Zoot. He may have had an encyclopedic knowledge of racing to some people, but he was very dismissive of others in a very condescending way too, such as myself. I can't remember it exactly, but my first exchange with him was when he claimed some technical statement I made was false, when I knew it to be factually correct proved it so. He may in your opinion have been knowledgeable, but he acted in a way that his word was gospel and only he was the only authority on such things, and where is that any different from the 'frat house' behaviour you mention from others? Anyway back on topic.

Rossi = 1 win = mega empolgation, mega audience, super fun race.

Lorenzo = 1 win = crap boring "race" as hell; 4 wins in steak = f*ck that .... I'll stop watching this crap now.

Both are winning riders but what a difference some story makes.

I hate Rossi but mark my words: the day Rossi quits MotoGP will be the day MotoGP will quit itself from earth.

I was thinking something similar to be honest. I don't recall Rossi getting .... for torpedoing Gibernau at Jerez in 05. Admittedly in that instance Sete did commit to closing the door, whereas as others have said Rossi almost planned to escape over the grass today.

Rossi straight-lined the chicane to win. Not much brilliant about that. It's also funny to see people talk about Marquez' crazy moves. Some of Rossi's most notable moments have been his dirty riding. But it's CHE SPETACCOLO for some people...

Agreed. IMHO, as great as Rossi is, he's also a very lucky rider as well..

It really was excellent. Watching Lorenzo's face during the questions was classic.

Hadn't had time to watch the post race interview. Maybe I misunderstood but it sounded like Marquez said he thought he'd won the race. Maybe it's just the way he phrased it.

Yeah - he wasn't the soul of politeness. Like Geo said, the craziness can be catching. I know folks have pushed my buttons a few times and I regretted giving them the satisfaction of acknowledging it.

So what would the upside be of Rossi turning MurderMac into a raving, emotional lunatic?

There's got to be some kind of end game to this, no?

Turns MM into Sete v.2.0 and takes the 2015 AND 2016 world championships lol :)

I don't think MM is capable of acknowledging that kind of distress.
I reckon he's repeatedly imagining getting the best of Rossi, and
psyching himself to think that no other outcome is possible.

No upside. I don't think it's possible anyway. I don't believe MM thinks Rossi is better. I don't think he's intimidated. Every time he's had a chance to rough Rossi up and make a questionable pass he goes for it. No reverence at all in my estimation.

Rossi=Marquez.

Can we discuss Dovi? So what's going on? Did he have a problem with the 2nd best factory bike in GP (behind only Yamaha)? Were the tires an issue? I heard Marc was only rider to use medium fronts as apposed to soft (I think thats how it was) so did Dovi eat up his tire? He was battling with Tech3 & LCRs then suddenly dropped off pace.

Also I should ask, did Crushlow use the 2014 chassis, because it's odd he didnt crash?

I certainly do, when the person rather than conceding digs in to the untenable position.

And to contrast that, several members have come back decidedly for the banter and .... talking. Not sure if you've been paying attention, but when people think differently about an incident, and we always do, arguments happen. What gets me about this point of yours is that you have more than your share of participating in insults and snide remarks, and as I said before, I guess its only bad when others are doing it, right? You were a participant in THEE most epic "Bile, bitterness, unrelenting snakinesspersonal attacks and insults" events ever on this forum! Of all the episodes that can be described this way, that one was the worst! And it still hurts me that this was aired out here. Which frankly I would still like to forget. Seems a bit rich to take the high moral ground now.

Am I reading this right?

You'd better have Spock check those memory banks, Jum. FWIW, I don't recall Kesh bashing anyone who didn't clearly have it coming. And if you honestly place him up there with Rog and some of the other Heroes of Powerslide in the .... Flinging Awards, I'd have to say you have a bigger blind spot than Marc Mayhem does when it comes to seeing other riders.

Banter and BS is fine, but some people (couch, hack) aren't so good at sensing when they've gone over the line and have descended into genuine vitriol.

IMO, the most insidious thing about the PS was the institutional lack of basic respect shown toward others. That 'culture' is contagious and will always produce a big-assed mess if given enough time to ripen.

Good times, the best in my life. Its been said before, part of the problem is that tone doesn't convey well on typed words, half the time I'm laughing while others are taking the words so seriously. People get bent so easily.

So... perhaps folks ought to voluntarily turn down their attitude a notch or two from eleven, just in case the recipient is having a crappy day? ;)

Off track? Satisfaction. Pure and simple!
The 'New Smiling Rossi' is the same person that openly gloated over crushing Max and Sete's souls into a smear of goo on the pavement. While Valentino has matured a fair bit, the mean, arrogant ....... is still in there, and I suspect that little voice REALLY enjoyed today's outcome. ;)

On track, any advantage is helpful. Putting Marc's head in a place where he feels he 'has to win' is a huge advantage. Let's just hope Maim the Merciless doesn't massacre anyone trying to do the impossible.

Yes, you read right. And its this kinda of response that often gets people going (all of us). I have the blind spot, right? Ok, I'm such an ....., I should have checked my keyboard, it typed on its own. I know what I was saying and I didn't misspeak. If "had it coming" is the standard, then nobody has ever slung .... that the recipient didn't deserve. Because as long as the one dishing it thinks the other guy had it coming.

And I'll add, Zoots is the only ever member I have genuinely thought was certified ...., someone I wouldn't want to meet in real life (and thats saying something), yet for Kesh to even mildly offer some support and mention him as a victim IS exactly a blind spot. .... that guy!

Its the nature of the forum, maybe the nature of the internet I guess. You and I and 75% of us have got sucked into insidious arguments. Its so easy to misunderstand somebody and so easy to spit out something that can rough up feathers. I could get all butt hurt for example, for you butting in on this conversation, comparing me to MurderMac and all, haha. But it rolls off, and I think you meant well. No big deal. Everybody has different thickness of skin. And I agree, I should throttle it back sometimes. I'm guilty of being a .....

Anyway, back to the racing.

What's up with Dovi?
