CDC scientists estimate that an average of 36,000 people (up from 20,000 in previous estimates) die from influenza-related complications each year in the United States. In addition, about 11,000 people die per year from respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a virus that causes upper and lower respiratory tract infections primarily in young children and older adults. The study demonstrates that most deaths caused by RSV occur in the elderly.

Your such a sad little satirical ........ Did it hurt to give Rossi a bit of praise?

Butler went on a witch hunt after the death of Daichan and in addition to the Tamada affair, he was particularly harsh on Hopper. Don't forget that the Tamada we're talking about here was very very potent 'Vale beating' force on those Bridgestone's and that V5 Honda on their day. That's when I first realised the awesome potential and comparative advantage (side grip, front end feel), that the tyres had over Michelin.

The irony is, that Butler should have stood down after Kato's death. The race should've been stopped immediately. In fact it sickens me to recall it. Notice that yesterday, the paramedics didn't move Haga until they were sure that thy had diagnosed the extent of his injuries. They erected the barrier and treated him where he lay. Butler should have red flagged that race at Suzuka instantly. Daijiro wasn't hit by another rider, and the entire field had passed safely by. The image of him being shoveled onto a stretcher, carted off track, and dumped at the side still haunts me. The race was run, and the TV schedules were unhindered. Should've been red flagged..it wasn't, and I'll never understand why, nor will I comprehend why Butler is still in the position of race director.

This was unquestionably one of the worst decisions I have ever seen in motorsport

I totally agree. if i recall a lot of the footage of how Kato was treated track side was caught on fans personal cameras rather than what went out on TV. Some race direction decisions are hard and as ive said i dont envy there job ,but after Kato's condition was realised (which was pretty soon after moving him off the track) the race should have indeed been red flagged out of a mark of respect imho. I think that decision was a no brainer ! Butler seemed to think dropping the circuit off the callender would make up for his incompetence in being able to make decisions quickly. Also imposing knee jerk decisions on the incidences we have mentioned.

Franco knows what he's talking about though - who remembers/has seen his horror crash at assen?

CONGRATS TO VALENTINO ROSSI!

I'm gonna let this production celebration pass since 100 wins is quite amazing!

The rest of the race was boring.

Nicky showed some life, that is until he got sideways. Don't really know what to make of it since he was still behind Kalio, that is until he went gravel surfing.

BTW, I'm also pissed off that Rossi didn't get his 100 win at Laguna. But as I was thinking, its a rather Hollywood story that it would happen at Assen, the historical hollowed ground of GP.

Ok, let me vent a little here. This guy I occasionally ride with and haven’t talked to for months and months, texted me the results while I was out of town. ..... Can we pass a law and immediately revoke the ..... of any guy who spoils the results of a race? Damn it!

<
he was up there sprayin champagne all over the place & looked just fine to me with the exception he was pissed at his performance... very imature not showing up to the post race interviews.....
<
my opinion of him has droped somewhat because of this seemingly childish behavior. if jorge would have got a better start i think we could of had another race like catalunya but he didn't...
<
oh well maybe at laguna!
<
i was really starting to get pissed at the coverage of the race because i wanted to see the scrap for 6th. it was the barn burner & we keeped getting treated to rossi & lorenzo crusin around the track.

<
damn that yamaha is a good bike! good to see hayden makin a little progress & kallio looked really good too.... ashame he crashed. has honda hit rock bottom yet? man they suck this year.

Frosty, you nailed it!

I thought the same thing about Stoner. You know I defend the guy against the Rossi-mindless, but I can't really give Stoner a pass on this one since he was spraying champagne. I have no doubt he is feeling sick, and probably even seriously ill. But you have to show up to the interview if you can "stomach" the podium ceremony. This was history for Rossi and the sport, and not showing up to interview looks bad. Having said all this, believe it or not, I'm still coughing since WSBK Utah trip. That's no lie, Cali Kid can confirm. So its easy for us to say 'suck it up Stoner' and not knowing the real extend of his illness. But in this case, yeah, I'm with you, 'suck it up Stoner, get your ... to the historic post race interview.'

As far as the race, what ...... coverage. Every time they showed us the battle for 6th, its was boiling hot, then they'd cut away, how hard is it to have slit screens?

Oh, that Yamaha is awesome. Almost unfair advantage. (2007 anyone? hahaha)

BTW, Migs, I see you lurking, 2nd Ducati, eh.
<
Hahaha, actually, i'm not really satified with 9th. But the only bright spot is he could at least battle with the mid packers, and that's saying alot considering his session.

As for people calling Stoner a "....." and all that crap, go .... yourselves, you are .... humans. You really think he would bail unless he really needed to? ..........

I normally agree with this assessment Ospi, but seeing him on the podium looking fair then not at interview was suspect. Maybe you are right and he showed up to the podium ceremony despite feeling like .... because he knew it was historic, but not making it another 20 minutes to get to the post race interview looks a bit suspect. Forgive me for being such a ".... human".

This forum runs on a MySQL database.
Everytime someone makes a post, it creates a query (INSERT INTO posts (title, content, poster, datetime) VALUES ('".$_POST['title']."') " etc

This is executed which uses up memory on the server. It wont be a significent amount and it was only a joke - 1post = about 10kb.

The database is probably 500mb.

Idk wut channel you watched for the race but i had the same problem with SpeedVision. They have that thing here in the US w/ Nascar where u can switch around from rider to rider and choose what view you have and whatnot. (on dishnetwork if i remember correctly) I wish we had that with Motogp. Imagine being able to watch the whole race from a riders perspective. Wishful thinking

Worth millions. Should end up in a museum some where. I hope so, I'd like to take a look at it.

So which corner will they name for Rossi at Assen? Sucks for me it didn't happen at Laguna. I may not be a fan in the classical sense, but like MJ, I recognize greatness when I see it.

well stoner doesn't think so, he stated if he were well he would have been up front fighting for the lead. I also read he said Yamaha development had hit a plateau.

Im not a Doctor (you may or may not be aware of this)

but i think the people who think his problem could be anxiety attacks cause by pressure. may have a point. If you have flu that's so bad it lasts weeks you would be in bed , not jetting all over the world scoring podiums among the worlds best riders., same with stomach bugs.

Oh, I didn't know you were promoted to memory-nazi.

Hahaha, JOKE PEOPLE, don't go gettting all ape .... about the word.

Ah, thanks for explanation. So are you saying I would make one post and reply to multiple members to save memory? Actually, there use to be a feature, that when the member posted with a certain time limit, the post would combine the replies into one post. Don't know why it doesn't do it now, and really I don't care. Look at it this way, you get the honor of having your own personal reply.
