<{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>I think stoner maybe suffering from anxiety... for some people it can get crazy, i had it once for 3 months constant for no reason at all just poped up out of the blue and raceday maybe its trigger for stoner recently.
doc thought at first i had a heart problem then when those test were ok i had bloods done as they thought i may have glandular fever... but that was negative so they knew then it was anxiety... i had shakes, elevated heart rate , fatigue just feeling very very tired for no reason , and the stomach cramps are unbearable like your stomach been tied in a knot also felt like i had flu... i lost 1 and half stone in the last few weeks when i had it as i only was able to eat 2 or 3 meals a week. it was only after medication it stoped.
im not making excuses for the stoner but you have to be reasonable here its a possibilty and maybe why he thinks he has flu?
but at the end of day im just making a sugestion, he maybe looking for excuses for lack of performance... im just offering another opinion
Was giving consideration to what you said here Jaz, and I was reminded of a friend who suffered from panic attacks as a teenager and has been plagued ever since. I suppose they are not dissimilar to the anxiety attacks you describe - if not the same thing. Having seen the results, you have my sympathy.
I was also thinking that a very similar thing to Casey's current affliction, happened to Barry Sheene, was it during the 1978 season? - not sure. He was completely out of it, physically and mentally exhausted and it began to seriously affect his results. It was diagnosed as chronic fatigue syndrome, or M.E. - and the symptoms were at times very flu-like in their nature.
