Aragon *RACE* Thread

Not sure if anybody has mentiined it, but i thought that was a class act by Lorenzo to wear Tomizawa's helmet. Nice tribute.

Praise my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! He Lives.

Sorry I'm late posting but I've been in church.

I was beginning to get worried that Nicky would have his first year without a podium. Praise the holy spirit.

I was quite dissapointed that Speed once again will not show podium ceremonies or post race interviews. They blow the first 7 minutes on ........ that I fast foward thru and fail to show what people really want to see. Fans tune into sports for more than just the game. We want to see the passion and emotion whether it be victory or defeat.

All of that is at the end of races not in a pre race ........, stock answer interview. Praise Mary Magdelan

Dovi. That's what you call being snapped the .... off ...... I can't believe I'm saying this but "Don't Mess With Texas"

It didn't really help Dovi that his opponet was HRC and Spies. Praise Pope Nazinger

God Bless

AMEN.

Stoner looked like Stoner of old, no doubt he controlled that race, he was just playing with Pedrosa. I wish Pedrosa wouldn't have messed up the first turn, if he could have gotten up there with Stoner at the start we could have seen a better battle for the lead. Was kind of cool seeing the individual races for position and Hayden's last lap pass on Lorenzo was a long time coming for a lot of Hayden fans, was definitely nice to see.

Is Ducati really back, or is this just a case of Yamaha managing the championship.
I for one hope Ducati found the missing pieces and make these last races interesting to watch. Hate Stoner or not, he makes racing fun to watch, he retains his Alien status.

I think they've done something concrete (as opposed to the wings
<
) because A. Stoner didn't just beat Pedrosa

but beat him by - what was it? 5.5 seconds. Every time Pedrosa picked up the pace, Stoner had an answer.

And B. Hayden's performance was much improved in all practices - and in the race itself. I do think Lorenzo was a little too confident

of his ability to keep Hayden in his shadow, and Nicky was shrewd enough not to show his hand too soon. That Yamaha may have

de-tuned Lorenzo's bike to make it last the season seems a real possibility - but even so, Lorenzo's and Rossi's bikes have consistently

down on top speed throughout the season, but he's always seemed to have ....-loads more raw ability than Hayden, yet Hayden on

the bike with engine adjustment (assuming he's received the same adjustment as Stoner) seemed today to be calmly stalking Lorenzo

and at no time, riding over his head to keep up; very much calm and focused.

LOLOL!!!! Man I bet his mom even makes him bag it!

You mean cotton-bud head? I will now refer to him as SSB forever more!

Ben had a very positive race. His riding talent and the satellite Yam seemed up to the task of taking on Dovi's factory Honda, "the BEST? bike out there"...

Me neither... farkin' SPEED TV. Lookin' for a tube... if anyone sees one please post or PM me.

Were you watching the same race? It was Pie-boy's riding skill that kept the factory Honda behind... He's still the wonder boy of the rookies and satellite riders...

Thats what i was wondering. Here is what Herve had to say after the race

“I am almost lost for words to describe the way Ben rode today," said Tech 3 team manager Herve Poncharal. " It wasn't his best result of the season but it is certainly one of the best feelings because he rode an incredible race. He was pushing on the limit for the whole race and to beat Dovizioso was really impressive.

"I think it was a fight that the fans really enjoyed. It was clear Andrea had a little bit of an advantage on top speed but some of Ben's braking moves were phenomenal and he was very brave. I am very happy with Ben and he is getting better and better and this race from him was stunning. He never gave up and showed unbelievable fighting spirit."

Lorenzo is a snotty little puto! He's not as well liked here in Spain as many may think. Sure he has his fan club and has sold a lot of shirt and hats, but the crowd doesn't really dig him. Before the race during the intros the roar that let out with Pedrosas name being shouted was deafening, Lorenzo's was on par with Dovi's. Not saying Dovi is disliked, you know what I mean. When Nicky was breathing heavy on Lorenzo there at the end of the race, the cheers "vamos Haiden!!" were all around. The pass came just to the left of where I was and saw is stick. Crowd really cheered!! And for those that think Lorenzo is sandbagging, the tantrum he had going in his helmet was ridiculous. He was the first to come by my section of the track after the flag. When I heard his bike coming around the corner I thought it was someone on a hot lap. Then I realize it is Lorenzo motoring by fast, not a wave to anyone!! Not even the cheap seat Pelouse section. Head down stormin to the pits. Little ...... He barely managed a arm raise fingerpoint to his fan club. I guarantee he was fummin with that last lap pass by Nicky! Lorenzo definitly didn't make any friends here in Aragon, and I'm pretty sure he lost a few. I'll get some pics out soon. Got to rest, it was a long day of riding and sitting under the hot Spanish sun. Oh, and rumor around Spain and at the track is that Motorland Aragon will be hosting next year... Cash strapped Hungary, and great show here are helping that out.

I second that emotion. I'm thinking Lorenzo's wishing he were retaining the teammate with the bum wing.

Yamaha's worst MotoGP race since 2007

dont worry more of them to come in 2011 Lin

The crowd was loving the scrap between Dovi and Spies. Dovi crashed right in front of us. Poor guy, a fight to the end would have been great. As Dovi was getting to his feet, he crowd really got behind Dovi and started chanting his name and giving him a bit round of applause for the great show he was part of. He acknowledged us, and have the crowd a hands spread out in desperation gesture, as in"oh it was so close, yet now soo far!" It felt like he was very grateful to the crowd and returned an energetic thankful wave to us. Complete opposite to Lorenzo,s show, who just happened to ride by seconds after Dovi was being scootered away.

Hey Bat, sounds like ur not much of a Lorenzo fan.
<
Thats interesting, i had wonderred who was more popular, Pedro or Loren. I wouldnt b to hard on Jorge bro, he prob is starting to feel championship pressure. He should send Casey flowers for winning cuz if Dani had won, im sure that would b really worrisome. Im looking forward to ur pics dude. What a great event u guys put on. Do u hav an idea what was the attendance?

Pigsh, buddy, get a hold of urself. A Yamaha was a rats hair from a podium, backed up by a satelite Yamaha, and Rossi's Yam in tow for good measure in 6th. 3 Yamahs in top 6. Its not end of world.

Dovi's crash

So what happened? Well it turns out the pair passed each other several more times before Dovi hit the deck.

"The crash happened between turns 12 and 13," said Dovizioso. "Spies went in too deep and I tried to overtake him on the inside. That meant I was carrying a little bit more speed through the change of direction and as I flicked from left to right I highsided.

Speaker said 70 thou and some change. I not really a fan of any rider. Being half Spanish/American and having lived in Japan a few years makes have me have a broad spectrum of people to cheer for! But Lorenzo is not one of my favorites! I understand he may be stressed out a bit, but to not give a little wave? You think Nicky, or any of the other USA would not wave at Laguna or Indy? Or Rossi at Misano last race? Or any race in Italy for that matter? Rossi knowing his season is as shattered as his leg, from the hospital calls the track on sunday to greet the crowd. I think that would be a better reason than Lorenzo's to piss and moan.

If true, you won't hear any complaints from me, I rather liked this venue, awesome, just awesome! Aragon cork screw, hell yea!

Was this 70,124 race day attendance ? i think the other stats above for the other tracks is weekend attendance ? Aragon rocks imo. ive seen this track before but cant remember where, was it wtcc ?

I heard the announcer say "Setenta mil bla bla" which translates to "seventy thousand bla bla." By the amount of people that I could see there was a lot more there than in Motegi the times I have been there, and there was 40,000 there.

Roger, you may have seen Motorland during a Formula Renault race.

148,120 is bloody impressive, wonder what the attendance was in valencia 06. i was there and it was bloody heaving, although the place is very small.

Well its obvious we all like Aragon, but 4 races in spain ?? come on that can't be good for the sport. Which spanish round should we drop ? I think catalyuna because it's a cookie cutter track or valencia because of its size. i like valencia but anyone who's been there im sure will agree that it's just to small and the facility's are .....
