2018 Gran Premio d'Italia Oakley

Synn is a huge supporter of Zarco. A bit of a strawman argument.

Which is why I said tifosi and not synn, since I base my arguments not only on what I read here, unlike synn crying about the global conspiracy that is only present on motogpforum dot com. Many Rossi fans on other communities have been awfully defensive about Zarco's performance this year

When did he say anything about a global conspiracy?

So you would go to a Rossi forum and post that Zarco should have Rossi's M1 because of his string of front row starts this year and expect them to agree with you? Or you'd use them being in disagreement with you as some sort of proof that they're out of touch with reality because you believe Rossi isn't capable of riding well anymore?

Now when Rossi wins pole, you're finger pointing at Rossi fans for "defending" Rossi vs the people that said he's not good enough to have the factory M1 over Zarco.

Good qualifying. It's difficult to know who is the favourite.

Marc is strong in every sector other than the third, where he loses seven or eight tenths. Very odd.

Iannone looks good. The Yamahas have looked solid but they're a little unpredictable.

Zarco seems to be struggling a little here, but he did last year too.

Good to see Lorenzo back at the front. Tyre wear will be an issue, as always.

He's not good enough to have the factory bike over Zarco because of future potential. Miller won a race, it doesn't mean he deserves a factory bike.

If Zarco's future potential is so good, he'll get a top factory bike when his time comes.

its one thing to do one fast lap on very sticky soft tires, its another thing to go the race distance on tires that will actually last.

How did Zarco qualify compared to the factory Yamahas?
Asking for a friend...

Too bad MM couldn't get the third sector right because he was on pace to break the 1'46 barrier. Second row start is not a big deal, after all he started second row at Le Mans and look at how that turned out.

Still have to wonder about the electronics issues of Yamaha that Rossi was complaining about since the bikes did so well here in qualifying and I don't think they magically figured out the ECU programming issues, if they are as bad as were being claimed.

Either way good pole for Rossi. Will be interesting to see if he has the race pace to capitalize on it. You can be guaranteed Lorenzo will be in the lead going into turn 1, but his tires will fry out like usual so it won't matter. Hopefully we get a Rossi/Marquez battle because that would be quite fun for this circuit.

Rossi did say that he still has wheelspin during acceleration with the harder compounds, so I don’t think Yamaha has completely solved their electronic gremlins yet. It’s just he handling that’s making them look good at the moment.

The big electronics update is only coming after Barcelona IIRC.

Interesting, thanks.

I always look for body language between riders to get an idea on their feelings towards each other. For example, J.Lo and Dovi barely acknowledged each other on the Sepang podium last year and I said st that point that things aren’t happy and dandy at Ducati. Or Rossi and Marquez on the Le Mans podium where they did the same.

But the body language between Rossi and Lorenzo today was rather warm. It definitely looks like Lorenzo is on his way back to Yamaha and that both riders have buried the hatchet and share mutual respect.

Doping test should be completed right after qualifying is completed. Marc may have gotten the 3rd sector wrong. But there is no way this frail anemic OLD scumbag, can perform at this level without enhancement drugs. This is one of those individuals Cal was talking about.
