What's it all about Vale?

Well look who the cat dragged in!

I suppose you reckon Vale would be winning on the Honda then :rolleyes;

I'm the head/leader/prime of the Marquez fan club ........ have been since before Qatar 2013 ......... bit of an illogical statement on your part then.

Now try and tell you don't watch him riding and realize he is far more skillful than the other riders out there.

Put him on a Yamaha and he'd still be winning.

no cos the Honda doesn't suit rossi's style its to ragged/angry

the Honda has a big advantage... on fuel consumption (end of race) and conrer exit and entry... if you cant see that advantage then your really stupid.

I think you and povol are just taking the piss sometimes... or both just thick as .....

and no I don't think marquez would have so many wins if he wasn't on the Honda.

Hmmm,

I'm pretty sure that if "old man" Rossi, skilled as he undoubtly is, could ride that Yam within an inch of its life and finish that close to MM on the Honda, then I'm also sure that MM could also beat all the current field on the Yam. To say anything else would be to deny the evidence of your own eyes, tbh. Unless you can see some foible of the current Yam that MM shows a weakness in riding around......

You must also agree then that if Rossi is running Marquez close, when the Yamaha is slightly inferior, then it goes to show he's capable of beating Marquez if Yamaha was as good.

Nope, you are putting words into my mouth! Your quote is not a corollary of what I said!

Just curious if thats an opinion, or are you basing it on any kind of facts. Yamaha's lap times at the end of races have not had any drastic fall offs that would suggest the computer has zapped power to make the end, nor have the riders mentioned it at all after any of the races

Would one agree with my supposition?

Remember Phillip Island 2003? See link below if not.

motogp.com · Rossi wins dramatic Philip Island encounter despite ten second penalty

No-one realised just how much Rossi was riding at 8/10ths until that race because he was only beating the other riders by a few seconds and usually "pulled the pin" with a few laps to go.

Just because VR is close to MM at the end of the races at the moment equally does not mean VR would be capable of beating MM if both were on the Yamaha (for sake of arguement). Or "if the Yamaha was as good as the Honda" - your words, not mine.

We have no idea just how dominant MM might be if the need arose. The fact he's won all the races this year despite a couple looking close, does not mean that he couldn't have won by a margin if he chose. Nor does it mean that he could.

It is unknown, hence my comment that your statement was not the corrollary of mine.

No harm, no foul, let's keep enjoying the races.

I am in the camp of Marquez is following his idols blueprint to success. Keep the racing close, come from behind , do just enough to win, smile a lot. The fans love it, Dorna loves it, you become a legend and acquire ungodly riches. Of course you have to be superior to your competition to pull this off, and at this time, he is.

I'm pretty sure he's said in an interview that he prefers to drive off into the distance if he can, and that one of the reasons he didn't enjoy Mugello was because it was too close with Lorenzo and he was on the edge.

Im sure if you ask any racer, he would prefer to grab a comfy lead from the start and cruise home to victory. Makes life much easier and is a bunch safer. But as everybody knows, if you do, you are a chicken .... who doesnt like to mix it up, has a missile strapped to his bike and will be driven from the series. Kid is smart, he is copying the Rossi playbook verbatim, except he has to learn to let them win every once in a while. ;)
