i find this post amusing considering that was exactly what you wanted me to do. find specific race videos to "prove" to you that rossi's race tactics were poor at best. the guy has a history of deliberately pushing people wide, stopping short, distrupting others race lines, etc. you choose to admire someone like that. i don't. its nice to see some people are beggining to see what i've seen all along and consequently realizing the guy is a clown. talented. but still a clown.

anyone who is willing to put someone else's life at danger for their sole purpose is a risk in my book. i chose a long time ago to not root for valentino.

Ahh, our very own top race instructor is back. Welcome back buddy.

I guess this is one way for Rossi to protect his status as the number 1 rider of the 800 era.

I'd like for all the members who talked .... about Toni Elias in 2006 (who are still here) to denounce Rossi with the same vigor.
<

Won't happen. Why, you ask? Toni Elias doesn't spell his name V-a-l-e-n-t-i-n-o-R-o-s-s-i.

4 ducatis in the top 7 - will this ever happen again?

No.

Ride of the day goes to Pedrosa. Hayden lucky to get the podium, as it dried he slowed considerably. I expected such an outcome from Simoncelli, not from Spies. Disappointing. On to the fun part...

It was racing, that's true. It wasn't some out of control, reckless attempt like some claim. I'll defend Rossi to that end. But, he didn't have a chance of making that apex. I'm not saying it's a dirty trick or he's the only one to ever do it, but that's the reality of his attempt. Closing the amount of ground between Stoner and him in a single corner, in the wet and on a relatively unfamiliar motorcycle with a front end notoriously lacking front-end feel and susceptible to tucks no less, is a big, BIG ask for anyone. Even Rossi. I think it was unnecessary considering the 20-odd laps remaining. Asking for a suspension or a penalty is laughable, it's a racing incident. Saying Stoner is somehow at fault for attempting to continue at pace or for not getting out his Rossi's way? Just as laughable.

With regard to Stoner's applause from trackside and the apology after the race, it's all going to come down to who you support. Was Stoner's climbing of the fence and moving trackside to applaud Rossi during the race professional? No, but it was funny. Was Rossi's apology genuine? I think partially. I don't think he's some bunny-eating devil-man with no sympathy for anyone, I think he was going to apologize regardless. However, it's rather convenient a horde of his crew and photographers were there (but then again, when doesn't Rossi have such an entourage?). But I also don't think Stoner should be vilified for his response. He's been called a whiner in the past, and he didn't whine. He was sarcastic, sure, but at least he didn't whine. He put a smile on his face, shook Rossi's hand, and had a few less than genuine words. There are bigger tragedies, folks.

Each side is going to find bits to pick apart in Rossi and Stoner's demeanor to suit their own arguments. In the grand scheme of things, the points loss will hurt Stoner. But I think come the end of the season, the Stoner/HRC package will be able to overcome today. And Rossi took a top five, so that's a positive all things considered.

Also, hello to the good guys.

what a ....... rossi is...he and stoner would have fought for the podium but no, he has to fk it up completely, after all nobody will blame or sanction him.

what really upset me was everybody claping when rossi pulled into the pits....what the hell were they happy about?!

major ...... alert having to gather a little faggy gang and then leaving the helmet on...while trying to apologize? man....the guy has really no manners/honor

i find myself liking pedrosa more than rossi after today, thats how far the previously brilliant goat has pushed it.

classic comments by stoner, being the guy who tells the truth in a sarcastic voice is much more enjoyable then all the clowning .... that had been going on the last few years

i remember after laguna 2008 stoner said if rossi ever tried to do such a thing again he'd get it back 10 times worse. Now that stoner isn't the only faster rider than rossi on the grid i can very well see rossi being brutally hunted down .

i think its not the case that rossi is above any other really great rider, he is just willing to stoop to lower levels and .... everybody over. speaking english with an italian accent is just too adorable to not take advantage of it

Does anyone else think Dovizioso is sucky as hell? He's not even close to where his teammates are. Honda is dropping his ... for sure once his contract ends. If they do that I wonder if they willl still be runining a 3 rider team? I hope they pick up Aoyama over Simoncelli though.

They should drop Pedrosa too. The little midget put up a fight worse then the French.

i think if sic and aoyama will get roughly the same results they'll take simoncelli for sure . you need one clown for the good image for some of the spectators and neither perdosa nor stoner can do that .

as long as repsol is onboard and marquez in moto2 pedrosa is safe at hrc...

Well that was gona be a good race till Rossi fell off in front of Stoner, he was trying to win it early but he wouldnt have known anyone elses pace so fair play but thats racing unfortunatly but just bad luck Stoner, If Rossi would have waited he certainly had the pace to win!

Got to love the hate on here to say he crashed deliberatly funny as fook!

But while all were falling well done Lorenzo and what good luck for Pedders!

Right, well after initially feeling totally gutted for Stoner and very frustrated with Rossi's error i am feeling a bit more reasonable now. I would not file this event with the well known events where Rossi has been uncomfortably close to the limit of acceptable riding and gotten away with it. This was a racing incident, it was wet and these things can happen. Rossi did the right thing in putting his hands up and admiting his fault, he knows how Casey must feel. Casey was completely blameless in the incident and could not have done anymore to avoid what happened. Casey himself was good to acknowledge the situation for what it was and his critisism of the marshalling was a valid one, but this is not valentinos fault.

Casey seems to be taking an increasingly bold stand against the politics of motogp and i say good on him, he isn't interested in the ........ and i think he is increasingly admired for that, although he should be careful not to rock the boat too much. There are definitely people in the paddock who don't like the way things are run and it is good that they now feel they can have a voice, at least some of the time but if they over do it then the desired results will not be achieved in the long run. I think gradually the tides are turning in motogp, people no longer listen to Rossi and believe he is unconditionally correct, which will be good for the sport. In terms of his riding, i think his authority has been decreasing in the last year or so, his performance is not longer impeccable like it once was and he is having to go above and beyond just to stay amongst the aliens at the moment. It is going to be a great season, i literally cannot wait for portugal

Ahahahahaha this is brilliant...

Super comedy and super dramatic.

Well stacey and horhey have both said they are willing to "give the same back" but i have yet to see it. And i very much doubt that of the current crop of top riders any of them would be willing to test him out.

If he makes an enemy of simo on the other hand
<

Why dont you guys petition for rossi to be hung, drawn, and quatered...and/or docked points? Maybe you will be taken serious lol.

It makes me think of senna, who is also widely regarded by most who follow F1 as the greatest to have ever lived, when actually he made rossi look like a saint with his on track antics.....an particular his antics with prost, and even further back with the likes of brundle.

Quote from senna:

By being a racing driver you are under risk all the time. By being a racing driver means you are racing with other people. And if you no longer go for a gap that exists, you are no longer a racing driver because we are competing, competing to win. And the main motivation is to compete for victory, it's not to come 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th. I race to win as long as I feel it's possible. Sometimes you get it wrong? Sure, it's impossible to get it right all the time.

I'm glad people like you haters are not in charge of the sport, the way you go on they would be racing around in those spanish mini bikes you put a pound coin in.

Anyway cant wait for the next meeting between these two.
