"THIS" is a race...

OMG, what's that noise and why are their so many bikes? It sounded like it was thundering the entire race.
<

P.S. what the hell were Melandri and Hayden doing at the front? They suck.
<

I'm glad to see Stoner out front, b/c it is visual conformation that Ezy has stopped screwing with the tires/results. Casey was supposed to be this fast all season, but the old Spanish ....... who created Moto1 couldn't handle so much greatness on one squad. The worse Stoner punishes Ezy, the closer the 990s become.

Since Stoner has had his tires returned to him, it has been a slaughterfest. I'm wondering how much longer Ezy can take it?

Povol is...exactly right the hell on. Personally, I like to see a dominant rider challenging the rest of the field. That is what Stoner is doing right now and make no mistake about it it is the combination of bike, team and rider doing it just like it should be. In Rossi's era I was on board but after 3 consecutive title wins I wanted anyone that could beat him to do so to. Stoner will have his run and then I'll want someone to beat him.

WSBK is closer racing but nothing else is MotoGP.

its going to be an awewsome race tomorrow, can wait to see if rossi can hack the pressure or will chock again. rossi really needs a podium or his season is all but over.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (povol @ Jul 12 2008, 01:38 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Some of you people crack me up.When Rossi was dominating and winning going away, you were tossing your rocks all over the tv screen and coming on boards like this talking about how ....... awesome Valentino was and how he smoked a field of the best damn riders in the world,....... he was on another planet. Now its someone else and its a snore fest. You can go from jacking off in excitement when its your guy to taking a nap when its not.

Double Bingo!!

But you are "Screen Smudger Prime" Rog.!

yeah it was real boring for rossi fans when he was winning and putting the smack down on biaggi. there was prob 1 in 10 good races.

as far as the championship goes, well rossi won all his championship by the 5th race of the season. talk about snore fest.

Are you serious Lex?

Yes, I'm serious.

After Round 1, the tire manufacturers started putting everyone on the exact same rubber, regardless of whether or not they were 10 seconds slower than 2007. cough China cough

Remember the interview after LeMans when DORNA reported reluctantly that Stoner was faster than everyone during morning-after testing at LeMans when he ran his real tires? Dorna garnished the article with a classic howdy-doody pic of Stoner to make it look like Ducati didn't know what the hell was going on.

Well, following two wins by home riders at Catalunya and Mugello, Casey remembered how to set the bike up properly (widely reported by DORNA as new electronics, engine changes, and carbon fiber chassis additions; really they were just putting their old bike back together to run their regular tire set
<
). Voila, normal service is resumed. It's round 1 every round.

Ezy really tried to "fix" the sport, but not even a half-assed control tire can fix the 800s.

Your theory that dorna somehow nobbled stoner/ducati, whether or not by interfering with tyres, is becoming increasingly difficult to dismiss. Interestingly casey stoner himself said, I think at assen, that the ducati set-up was now greatly improved and they could use the hard tyres again.

I also quite like a couple of your other theories.

I have been arguing on another thread that honda decided that the 800cc formula and the design of the 2007 bike was what they wanted and picked dani to fit this, which I think was originally your idea. I would be very careful about leaving any skin scrapings or stray hairs around if I were dani in case honda have access to cloning technology
<
.

Your theory that casey stoner's riding edge is basically that he is crazy also has increasing supporting evidence. Acording to reports about his 120 mph crash yesterday at the end of fp2 he was highly amused rather than dismayed; he also described how he was careful about how he landed and in particular how he curled his fingers lest any tingling in the fingers post-crash was attributed to concussion by the authorities leading to him being banned from racing on sunday as apparently occurred in the race he did not start in 2006. This would seem to me to take focus to an inhuman level.

What's the deal with the weather? 25 mins into FP3 and only 13 riders have gone out and half of them have only done a few laps.

Marco was top of time sheets for about 5minutes at the start of session...
