Marc finishes 2nd twice after starting 13th.
Between sprints and GPs, this is his fifth P2 finish of the season.

It's time guys, it's time.
That bloke Martin might have something to say about it, and it is hard to see how he can't be given the second factory Ducati seat, although he may have annoyed them with his public comments last season, and Bastianini hasn't exactly been terrible either. As has been said previously however MM on a KTM might worry them more than any other current Ducati rider.

Still early in the season with 37 points available per weekend though, and MM seems fully fit and may be capable of relentless consistency mode.

I can officially say Marc IS back. Highlight performer of the weekend for me even though Martín dominated every day. Bagnaia took the 'defeat' with philosophy, he knows he's not the outright faster rider this year so he has to take what others give him.

Shame for Quartararo, he was making a great race.

Despite losing ground to Martin this weekend, it still oddly feels like to me that Marquez is reeling them in. I’m not sure how Ducati expect to make a decision by Mugello, Martin is leading the championship but in the last two races Marquez has finished just off the win on a bike that isn’t quite as good as the ones Pecco and Jorge are on.

I was sweating every time Marquez closed the gap as other two were making moves. I was thinking he will take 3rd place as he used tyres more coming from 13th but no. That overtake on Bagnaia at the end is like from 2017-2019 Honda bike.

Particularly having undoubtedly lost at least 2 or 3 seconds coming from 13th, not Jorge’s problem of course, but it seems to be out of him and MM for who is actually the fastest as a rider right now. Bagnaia however has come back from a more significant points deficit much later in the season twice now, and Martin looked the intrinsically faster rider between the two of them for a significant part of last season as well.

I trust the VR46 equipe will refrain from further commentary about MM for a while going forward, after removing all the egg from their faces, although Digi looks fast and also less friable than Bezzecchi, who is also fast of course.

for most other guys not getting into Q2 and starting from 13th thats weekend gone unless there is rain or crash galore in front of them. Maybe one of both races is salvageable. But double second place, only very few riders can do, man of the weekend, double trick pony!

If martin and bagnaia take out each other only once fighting for top spot its right back on. That could happen any race, this championship is wide open. For sure MM maiden duke win isnt far away, Sachsenring the latest

What a ....... good race, mama mia!

It's a shame nobody seems to care about how good Martin is. Pole, sprint and race, and if I didn't miss something, fastest lap. Ianonne 2.0 is a brave man. Fast, consistent, superhero physics, pronounced jawline and green eyes. Chad. LoL but in the race for the factory Ducati it seems he is not the preferable one.

Marquez was incredible, again a very good start and he was so smart at the end catching a distracted Pecco. His 1st win is maturing and we are still lacking a battle between him and chad Martin. Could happen very soon.

Pecco did a great race, commanded until the last 8 laps but lost a bit of juice in the end. Still alive in the title race although Martin will catch this one I'm sure. Pecco has been inconsistent at the season begin as always, let's gonna check in the next rounds what he can do.

Looking to championship table we see 4 Ducatis in the top 4. The reds still have the upper hand despite some blinking their ..... too early for the Aprilias and Acosta. Btw, the Acosta effect might have affected Binder head. Guy vanished.

Zarco was right about Freddie Spencer. Punishing both Enea and Digia was non sense.

If they follow the mould of the individual who they ride for I don't expect they will. 🙄

It does feel like if it was any other rider DiGi would have given position. I believe it ended up costing him an LLP? As you have said previously, continuing their bosses vendetta against MM, does not seem to be working in their favour.

Perhaps so, they only affected each other really. I myself only saw Freddie in his declining years, with him reputedly being quite something else in his pomp, but that unfathomable feat of winning two world titles in the same year in semi-modern times seemed to break something in him which has extended to his capability as a steward decades on.

(EDIT I believe Bastianini had the fastest lap which perhaps adds to your point, although I guess it would have been unfair for him to make up time on the leaders by taking the shortcut, and when it was gravel he either wouldn’t have done it or if he had quite likely put his bike down).
