I think you'll find Troy isn't the only superbike rider to have won a race in grand prix, yet he (and the others) remain riders who didn't have what it takes to run with the big boys over a season, its beyond him and his skills.

Well even foggy said that the Dukes had an advantage mate...what with the Duke’s 1000cc compared to the Jap’s 750's...That’s Not VERY FAIR!!! IS IT??? It's been happening ever since the WSB's started!!! How can that be FAIR???

Because a 750cc Inline 4 is equal to a 1000cc V twin.

Although it didn't always work like that.

Its not, ducati have always been given an advantage, and without it they complain and threaten to leave. Its good news for ducati fans but i'd rather see a fair battle so it annoys me.

No Mr. Hayden and I really like Nicky...he's a really cool guy!!!...But Nicky only competed in the AMA!!!..And Nicky is just out of his field when it comes to real motoGP racing...sorry I know I'm being controversial here "But It's TRUE"!!!

We were talking about the WSBK field bieng too weak to make it in gp, Nicky was too good for WSBK which is why he went straight to GP.

YES..phleg..That was a few years ago!!!...but I still think that the WSB's “IS .........!!!”....even though they copied what the Aussies were doing at "Bathurst" 45 years ago!!!...you know you have to have production copies of what you’re racing!!!

WHY??... DON’T THEY HANDICAP THE v2'S & THE 4'S THAT WOULD BE MORE FAIR!!! Just like they do at our Bathurst race!!! How can you compare a V8 Supercar to a V6, V4 or even an Evo 9, Sti...etc “IT’S A JOKE!!!”..and that is what I think of WSB’S!!!

I know where your comming from, it bugs me that ducati get given a technical advantage because they refuse to move away from their prefered layout even though it doesn't work as well as the alternatives.

The thing is that in Moto gp even though they use different cylinder formations, they are the same capacity.

Phleg....Please “JUST THINK ABOUT IT!!!”...how can any competition be “FAIR” when you have one manufacturer that’s been allowed to have a 1000cc/twin engine in comparison to the other manufacturers who don’t produce a high performance 10000cc/twin...”HOW CAN THAT BE FAIR???”!!!...The only FAIR thing is to make ALL BIKED EQUAL!!! And Ducati have had this advantage in the WSB’s right from the “START” and that is why they are competitive and were winning with Foggy, Chilli & Bayliss and whoever else!!!...This has been my biggest BEEF with the whole WSB’s SERIES...”It’s NOT COMPETITIVE!!!” IT’S .........!!! Make it a capacity limit and let the manufacturers built what they want.

Ducati can build a serious GP bike so why do they need the capacity hike in Supers? Because they couldnt develop an affordable 4 cylinder road bike. They have exploited the rules in Supers for years to great effect, but I dont see why they gotta whine now. They have umpteen WSB titles, and are about to get a Gp title, so I think the 1200 rule is a joke.
But the Japs arent so bothered about WSB, so the series needs to bend over for Ducati.

Racing twins and multi's are different animals, the power characteristicsare very different, and anyone who has ridden big twins and multis will tell you this.

The percieved power difference is negatated by way the twins make their power, so to be honest, I dont see why they should have a capacity advantage. Bayliss has won races comfortably this year on the Duke without a 200cc advantage.

In the old 100cc twins versus 750 fours, Ducati lifted titles with Foggy, Corser and loadsa others, but it took somebody like Lil John or Russell to win on a four.

I loved it when Honda made the RC51 and beat Ducati at their own game first time out!

You're missing the point by so far that if it had been a target on the shooting range, you'd have hit the one five targets along!
Nicky Hayden has won a world championship. He doesn't need to win another one to prove himself, one championship win is one more than 9/10th's of the current grid will ever be able to claim.
