I don’t have any problem with Rossi wanting to win titles as a team manager just as Agostini and KRSR did. Like them, I suspect he will be attempting to do so as manager of the factory team. He should get on with it though imo, at the moment he seems to be keeping Yamaha in a state of limbo by continuing as their lead rider, with Vinales wasting what should have been the best years of his career, although he may have been over-rated previously.He will be looking for that one rider, he believes may be able to breaks Marc's record. And if he does find that young Italian rider, and succeed. His name will forever be attached to that young rider. Where the glory will be more on him and less on the rider.
His chances of finding a young Italian rider with talent to match MM’s are vanishingly small imo, less than his chances of winning the fabled 10th title, given that the answer to the question of how many riders there have ever been who are comparable to MM is quite possibly less than 1.
