Looks like Cal is pissing himself under his helmet

Wow Marquez threw it away just when he had got what he wanted after waiting so long to pass Pedrosa, his hesitation was evident in that. Throwing his hands up in the air like he did was pointless, it was all his own mistake, I guess he was ad at himself but that's racing isn't it?

Another good ride by Cal, no mistakes from him. He got by Dovi and then pulled a fair gap which shows he was quicker, yes he was catching Dani hand over fist but to be fair he'd been struggling for a while, hence Lorenzo got away and Marques passed him. It was still good he got a podium, his riding like that says far more about him, or at least it should. Two podiums in two races, okay you could say Marquez gifted him that one, but he got the points and that's what counts.

That Ducati looks racier each race doesn't it? They said they did well in Le Mans because it was wet, well they did well today in the dry too.

The early incident with Bautista and Rossi was a case of six of one, half a dozen of the other, though so early in the race I'd have thought Bautista should have expected to have contact with someone there perhaps.

Rossi got beaten by his issues in qualifying - if you start only mid-pack, you're in the danger of suffering some mid-pack hickup. MM got beaten by his inexperience. I think Pedrosa 'slowed down' before and after Mark's crash because he knows too well how the Honda deteriorates after mid-race if it isn't set up properly. This is also what Stoner complained about constantly, losing grip, getting nervous and unstable. MM learned this similar to Stoner last year on Sachsenring.

The Ducatis seem to have sorted out their current bike finally - the gap to the front is smaller over race distance, and things seem to keep falling in place much more consistently and predictably, plus Pirro on the 'lab bike' gathering data (and some good championship points, btw), this seem to be good indicators for the second half of the season.

Finally a good result for Bradl and LCR, desperately needed. I hope he can get some of his confidence back and start to close the performance gap to Crutchlow - who quite obviously got at least 'something' from the factory, given he can challenge the fac bikes so regularly.

Never trust em! Especially if they have a bottle of booze they're offering you at Laguna.. Btw you going this year heis?

Hey that wasn't my liquor!

I think I will be able to pull it off this year.  Been back in Florida since Sept, but I finally found y way back to the Bay Area, so I'll likely be able to go and meet up again this year.

It's my turn to get you guys eff'ed up on this though!

Well, after watching that, I can't say that wall is dangerous at all. It doesn't look like he made any attempt to make this turn. A wall is dangerous when there is a possibility that the rider might hit it straight on or at least at an angle where the energy will have no chance of dissipating over a reasonable moment. This doesn't quite qualify I don't think, though I'm sure Kropo will make a case that any track Marky rides should have 3 miles of gravel fine white sand runoff in case the boy decides not to brake or make a turn.
The fact that the riders have been calling for that wall to be moved for years now, and Mugello has done nothing about it is disgraceful. The fact that it might take a close call with the golden boy for Dorna to force Mugello to move the wall is equally disgraceful, but at least the wall will be moved.

Agree 100%. Interestingly though the onboard replay from the start shows that Vale's M1 snagged in third, for some reason he was unable to select fourth. Before he could, the pack was already downshifting for San Donato. Mistake? Technical glitch..perhaps we'll find out it due course. I do believe that like Cal, Vale would have got stronger as the race progressed. Perhaps he, unlike Cal, he wouldn't have 'let Dani win'. Didn't expect to say this so soon....listen to the armchair experts - shut yer mouth and let your riding do the talking now buddy.

Also agree with the earlier comment that it would have made for a more interesting championship standing if Marquez had stopped on and finished second.

good race not the best but ok, great ride from jorge and cal again, mm needs to cool off abit... he maybe quick like stoner but doesnt posses the precision just yet.

just seen the heli view bautista clearly lost control and slammed into the side of rossi... what a dick

What can you say? Jorge fought back - great start, no mistakes. Has Yamaha opened up that engine just a wee bit?

Marky - emulating Jorge's first year, amazing luck to walk away every time.

Didn't think Vale would win, but didn't think his luck would be that bad. A bitch that it had to be in front of the home crowd.

Pedro - looking grim but still healthy and still in the lead

I love Crutchey in the post race interview saying he "let Dani win 2nd". He's a regular philanthropist he is.

Every time I start to think that 98% of the world isn't incredibly clueless, I witness something like the Yellow Horde at the podium ceremony pumping their pudgy fists in the air like Il Duce supporters at a facicist rally

yelling Rossi Rossi Rossi, when clown boy wasn't even on the podium.

To be honest, I think Cal let JLO win

The problems for Bautista began on Wednesday when he forgot to have his tips refrosted. His dog ran away. His boyfriend dumped him. It all fell apart before he got on the bike.

Problem with the clutch hampered the start apparently.

Bang on. The whole thing.

As for the chanting, 2+2=5 ?

Beat me to it.

It's like stirring custard on here - it just gets thicker and thicker.

It doesn't matter what you think, or I think - it is how it looks. Honda race to promote their bikes. So how did it 'look'? Yamaha beat both the factory Hondas - easily ( = Yamaha are better / faster). Marquez crashed the factory Honda 4 times over the weekend (= Hondas crash a lot). A satellite Yamaha nearly caught the factory Honda ( = Hondas must be really slow). To the millions watching, Hondas potential market - that is what you could take away and, more importantly, think about before buying your next bike. Not a good day at the office for Honda.

We've been through this .... before... The pure sports bike market is a tiny fraction of sales for the Japs (Ducati different and the fact that their bike is an uncompetitive piece of .... has only seen their sales RISE!!)). If one in a million Honda bike buyers world-wide (ya know they sell billions of scooters and 1000 times the cruisers/standards/dirt bikes, right) bases their buying decisions on the criteria you laid out I'd be surprised.
