FIM Road Racing GPs
Tyre regulation

2.9.2
Prior to the start of the season (defined as the day before the start of
the first IRTA MotoGP test of the current year), each team must
register the brand of tyre it will be using with the Grand Prix Technical
Director.
Should a team choose to change its designated brand of tyre during
the season it must inform the Technical Director in writing prior to the
start of scrutineering at the event where the change will take place.

So tomorrow a test then a writing a letter to the Technical Director

Nothing wrong with the Michelins today then.
I fail to comprehend how Honda could be allowed to change tyre manufacturers or even test another brand halfway through a season. Can you imagine the outcry if it was any of the other manufacturers? This is why I have never and never will be a fan of Honda as a company.
Good race by Rossi. Excellent result from Lorenzo and tiger Toni. Good ride from JT, disappointing ride from Dovi and what happenned to Nakano? Hopefully he's not still on the '09 bike. Poor Casey, he's doing this to himself.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (leon @ Aug 31 2008, 01:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>What's the problem with Stoner. Seems like he is going to slip in every race this reason untill he breaks the jinx. Damn. That was so disappointing. Nothing left to see anymore. I am turning the TV off

He should be more careful when hes got no one to chase down, maybe he doesn't want a confrontation with Rossi which seems to go one way.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BigAl @ Aug 31 2008, 06:27 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>or nicky is resting up so he can be fully fit and able when its time to jump on the GP9. Why take a huge risk for a soon to be ex employer when there is very little to be gained personally? its not like his season is depending on it now...

He said is injury is still bothering him. He'd probably rather not risk it and be more fit for indy, which is pretty close to his home and is expecting a lot of friends/family to attend. Makes sense, he really didn't have much to lose by sitting this one out.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Keshav @ Aug 31 2008, 02:23 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}><div class='quotemain'>Clearly his plan was to run away with the race and humiliate Rossi - but the tactic back-fired. That's racing dude.
In some ways I would find this although obviously tactically unsound a preferable explanation to my thought which was that casey was panicked by rossi doing one lap in the high 1 minute 34 second range and cutting his 3 second lead by 0.1 seconds.

Anyhow this is Randy's 36 crash this season.
....What ???
Yes...36 Including all practices and test's What a disaster.
I'm glad he wasn't taking anyone else (especially Rossi) on his last crash, while he was so damn close to Rossi's tail in the very first corner.

Maybe the way to keep him competitive would be to hire him as a temp, with a race-to-race contract. Keep him on his toes!

Another fine example of Rossi picking up an undeserved win. The cruisin' caretaker watches Casey clear off then waits for a crash or mechanical failure.
<
We know somebody else who used to do that.

On another note, it sounds like Honda will be changing tires mid season.

Hello?! Is anybody home. The ridiculous conspiracy they hammered out at the end of last season is unraveling.

Hello?!

A control tire was planned all along. Rossi got Bridgestones b/c Yamaha didn't have any B-stone runners. Pedrosa didn't get B-stones because Honda does have B-stone shod machines. They were testing the control tire early in the year at Michelin strong holds. Ducati didn't care because they needed data and they aren't particularly strong at most of the early rounds anyway.

At China it was obvious. DORNA officials were measuring corner entry g-force. Casey Stoner was ten seconds slower than he was in 2007. After winning the first race by a country mile, then struggling for 5 or 6 races, Ducati took everything back to the settings used at the beginning of the year and Casey started clearing off again.

Nothing has changed from last season, except DORNA have fiddled with the championship results by handing out favors to the biggest market rider.

Why do I feel like I'm yelling into an empty abyss.

NOT Honda or even all Repsol...Just Dani....Nicky is stuck on the Pneumatic valve engine that is not being developed back in Japan and Michelins...

That's because NO conspiracy exists....it is all in the minds of fans who cannot accept their favorite riders bad luck or lack of skill to ride 800s
