Losail Tests

i think Ducati's 800cc generation is condemned, no hope and no way to fix the bike over this year.

But maybe they could come back stronger with a 1000cc version, given that D16 until 2007 (2003-2006) was a very different bike, that suffered another correctable problems, not this spiritual one.

I think if Rossi got the D16 GP6, for sure he would turn it into a winning machine.

The D16 GP6 was a winning machine.Without Sete Gibernau that is.
<

I wouldn't call the Duc of this year crap. The problem is they have started from zero this year, asking new unacustomed rider with an injury for directions.

I looked up the weather for Losail tomorrow and the temps and humidity look good, there is however a prediction of 20+ mph winds. I could not find the weather conditions for last years test as a comparison, is 20 mph winds a normal day in Losail?

yeah but it seemed to be a more consistent bike, much less problematic.

Well, I'd like to know if there is a place where we can check all the lap times. I'd like to know Rossi's average on his longest run.

Factory Duck's just over half a second off the pace........so much for Doomsday.

Rossi is off .767, that's a stretch past "just over half sec". If you want to round numbers, that actually rounds to .8 sec. I suppose P6-15 are "just over half a sec" too.

Yea that's I read. These haters are a bit out of control. Lol.

"I entered too quickly and lost the front" VR. I'm not sure what that means in Italian, but in English it sounds like: "I entered too quickly and lost the front"

Always have been........

It's getting funnier though
<

How funny will it be when the factory Ducs get smoked? I won't be laughing. The only thing that is funny, is YOU.

OK!

Next thing you know he will be saying his eyelashes hurt and are costing him .5 second!

NO ... next think he'll say is that his ...... hurts and that he need to go fishing to brokeback river with uccio! thats the ducati effect
<

“Today I also had my first crash on a Ducati, which I naturally did intentionally because after a while, you have to do a little fall...

“All joking aside... VR

Ah Rossi, the jokester. hahaha. That's a good one. I wonder who he was referring to having to do a little fall on a Ducati? Perhaps the guy who won on it a few times last year and topped the laptime charts during preseason testing?

Nicky is struggling or testing, not sure.

Fromn gpone.com

That said, there is still some existing material that Rossi has yet to sample, like the chassis alternatives tested by Hayden today.

"We still haven't taken a step forward with the chassis. Nicky tried something new, but it didn't go well. We need to make a significant modification, and Filippo Preziosi told me there would be something ready for the post race tests." Rossi

The tone of that surely sounds like its being test for Rossi and modified with him in mind. Nice to have the test monkey doing all the leg work for the single factory Ducati rider. Yes, you heard it here first, Ducati has ONE factory rider with a testing rider in house. Make no mistake, there are NOT two factory riders, simply compare this tone with the Stoner/Pedro tandem. You guys can add that to the list of advantages, no other factory riders have their own personal tester in the garage.

"Too Quickly" Rossi now understands is "the same speed as the other midfielders"

A front end lose is a front end lose. To acknowledge that this was what Casey was doing and Rossi is doing and it something to do with the bike takes too much away from a bopper argument of Casey's pathologically bad riding.

That bike has some issues.

I hope they fix it for Nicky's sake.

The probability that the bike has issues is I would have thought rather high, has done nothing except increase since valentino started testing it imo, and will not be disproven till valentino consistently rides it at winning or at least podium pace without losing it.

I guess one "off" in testing is not proof that the bike will continue to have front end loses in valentino's hands , as stoner's one at sepang was not proof he will continue to have front-end problems on the factory honda, but some consistency in the approach to the two events would strengthen talpa's argument.

I wonder why hayden hasn't been doing so well

I swear if I hear one more mention of Nicky "The Kentucky Squid" Hayden just one more time........... .
<
He will never be anyone worth mentioning in MotoGP after he hangs up his helmet, heck he's not even worth mentioning as it is at the moment so just drop it please, dammit. I know how the human psyche works.... you guys root for the under achiever cuz it makes YOU feel good and fuzzy inside because of your sympathy for the poor chap. But seriously, enough already.

You know all too well what I'm talking about.

He is the 2006 premier class world champion and will continue to be so, not an inconsiderable achievement and one many whole nations of people have not matched.

I for one was very impressed with aoyama's 250 world championship and would rather like him to become the 1st japanese premier class world champion, but I am not holding my breath.

The .... is this guy on about?

Don't even bother. Have you ever seen the farside cartoon, what dogs hear? Supershit is the dog. You can't reason with him. So don't try.

Why do you hate Rossi so much.

Anyway, speaking of hater, Bayliss had a comment.

"I have heard talk that Valentino could finish up his career in Superbike - the Australian said - and in 2013 he will be as old as I was when I started racing at the world level. So it won't be too late for him to do it, but in the end I don't think he will make the move. My challenge race with him? Vale is phenomenal, but I won my race with him in Valencia, when I won in my MotoGP comeback ride and Valentino unfortunately crashed. I think Stoner is looking good for the 2011 championship. I think he is fastest of the three Honda riders, and right now Honda look to have a slight advantage over the others." TBayliss gpone.com

Check out that average rider hayden, almost the same time as the god. Ducati, what happened, you know he's not supposed to come anywhere near gods times.

They gained all that time by adjusting the ride height. Man are they clever. Mark of a great engineering crew.

"I entered too quickly and lost the front", which could be interpreted either way I guess, although it does not sound like the front end loses stoner was having, which he implied were more or less random although perhaps related to being unable to generate heat in the tyres.

I don't know whther I am classified as a hater, but if rossi does start having front end loses similar to those stoner had the implication to me would be that it is down to the ducati.

Michaelm your not a hater in any way. I see you read the whole thing and notice it states he went in too hot. Unfortunately not everyone can be open minded like you. I'm sure Rossi will probably loose the front on occasions. .... it even happened on the yamaha. Always enjoy reading your posts michaelm.
