Suicide watch: Talpa

(Poor Talps, yesterday he got his hopes up rounding .7+ to "just over half sec". Have you heard that song: What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours. How you gonna round 1.3+ today?)

say jumkie, why do you think theres no way duc would consider the screamer once again?

Because at the time they used the screamer, the difference between Stoner and the humans was greater than when they went to the big bang, allowing the humans like Nicky to post decent results.

sure ,i know the big bangs supposedly made it easier

but then again my point is that given what appears to be desperation in the ducati garage they might want to explore that ...that is if rossi would be willing to make it more rough and is capable of using the extra power like stoner did

The big question is: Will Talpa stand by his man until (if) #46 learns how to ride the Duc, or will he give up on MotoGP altogether? Fixing the Duc may take most of the year, and the damn thing may not be fully competitive 'till 2012.

The typical Bopper requires constant positive emotional feedback from V.R.; most won't have the patience to wait. Will Talpa?

In the meantime, look for Talps to display, in order, these classic symptoms of loss.

1. Denial

2. Anger

3. Bargaining

4. Depression

5. Acceptance

I think it's safe to say that #1 has kicked in, big time.

Anyway, here come the interviews. They should be fun to read.

I think part of the problem is Rossi requires a smoother bike. So having a more "raw" bike would set him back even more. Just my opinion, but who knows.

agree

maybe they are for now waiting for rossi to ride it the way stoner did and maybe only then the screamer could be relevant

I'm no engine expert but i know big bangs tend to use more fuel, my assumption is that given the fuel limit and electronics , the screamer would always be better

(except for the inline 4 yamaha but thats a whole different story i guess)

This group that I highlighted is the most interesting to me. They are basically very close, some almost tied, and one of them is a Ducati. Spies is the best of the rest. He has cemented his title contender aspirations going into the season with this performance.

The elephant in the room... Depuniet - in his first season with the new team, is ahead (yes

it's "only testing) of Simoncelli, Dovi, Edwards, Hayden, and Rossi et al- on a Ducati???

Well he's technically behind Simo & Dovi, but not by alot, which makes me think he will either be rewarded or held back ala Barros.

this and elias' performance get me wondering if maybe its not elias but rather a piece of .... lcr honda

Hayden ahead of god, Hayden ahead of god, what the hell happened ducati. Better swap motors or bikes or something. It's getting pretty bad when god is beaten by an average rider and to top it all off the randy is ahead of god too.

It's like i said last year, ducati's engineering crew hasn't got a clue.

LCR was never that bad of a satellite team unlike Team Scot. Not quite sure why it is that Elias is struggling so bad though, seeing how this year the Honda seems to be the bike to beat.

Wasn't aware Simoncelli was riding a Duc, but with MotoGP, nothing is off the table. I heard last year they had given Rossi a Tech3 bike and just put Fiat stickers on it.
<

Yet when the riders for Roberts 250 team in 84 came in and complained about their equipment, Roberts suited up and in 3 laps BEAT there times by a second.....

Rossi is done! He should have taken his father's advice and retired last year, or as a famous man once said, "I guess the burden was too much to bare".

Rossi is Ringo, Stoner is Holiday

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRINe8lQWLc

Rumors are swirling that Burgess and Preziosi want to hire Casey to give riding lessons, but that Rossi is opposed to the plan.

I'd gladly pay a million bucks to watch Stoner 'accidentally' jump on the wrong bike and go run a few 1:55 laps. I have little doubt he could do it.

cal crutchlow has lost part of his little finger of the left hand in the crash he suffered

I would say those others like yourself displayed those symptoms yesterday......

Lets wait and see, and I just got out of Bed!! I think JL is in the same boat, hes also lost 0.6 to the leaders! The past two champs are off the pace considerably today. But as Jum says what a difference a Dayr or three makes. Aoyama is a big surprise, Honda's silky smooth Box is hammering the field again, but I think Ben will be right up there this weekend and in prime position to beat his teammate. And Randy certainly found something.

Just another reminder though, no points were awarded today........
