Anyone know anything about what was said that Edwards might be forced out of Forward Racing after this event? They said it in FP2 comms on BT Sport, but that is was just pressroom rumor at the mo.

I think Edwards has an option to leave if he wants, from what I read on gpone. It looks like they may have worked something out for him with the bike though, good looking FP3 for him. I think this is the highest he's been in any session so far this season.

I'm so surprised by the result of Q2. Marquez on poll? Who'd have guessed that? :spin:

No ..... I really thought that Dani had a chance to make a bit of a move this weekend but it appears that this will be a repeat of the first 3 races. Boring.

Aleix crashing out of qualifying again, Bautista struggling again, front row of the best 3 riders... If Marquez loses this race then it's because Dorna are telling him to blow it so it looks like other riders have a chance of winning.

That said, Marquez fast lap looked incredible. That kid has some serious talent.

Why is it if someones favorite rider isnt winning, its boring ? so far, 2 of the 3 races have been very good, so what if the same guy has won every race. My favorite rider hasnt won in god knows how long, i guess i should be bored out of my mind, but im not at all.

Since my "favorite" rider is retired you can't be referring to me. Save that I never mentioned a favorite.....

Lorenzo on mediums for qual I read somewhere? Gotta be most of that 4/10ths.

What can you say, the kid is playing a different game. Last lap last turn showed you the difference between a champion and just another really good rider. Dani didnt even attempt a move on Rossi on a corner that begs for inside dives. He was as close, and in some cases closer than riders who have made up spots and created highlights for the fans over the years. Just recently, the difference between 2nd and 3rd on that very corner ended up deciding a championship. He will never press himself hard enough to win a title without someone elses bad fortune. I must say im impressed with Rossi so far this year, he is showing fight that we have not seen in quite some time. It will be interesting to see how he and Lorenzo react to the new tires being introduced at the next round. Good ride by Dovi to take 5th, but 27 seconds off the pace is not progress. Bautista finishes a race, yea.Every race you hear about how Smith is ready to make that next step and it never happens. Him and Bradl both take one step forward, then two steps back. If i were a team owner, i would be strongly considering change, those bikes are better than they are. Redding may need to readjust his aim again. After one race beating his teammate, he adjusted his aim and hasnt beat him since. If he cant beat Hayden and Aoyama on a regular basis, does he deserve Bautistas seat? From what ive seen so far, no, but its early. Maybe he can show something as the season unfolds. Right now, as of today, i would choose Hayden over Redding for Bautista's seat next year. Anyway, enjoy the show people, you are witnessing something truly special in the world of bike racing with no asterisks and no conspiracies. Remove Marquez from the equation and you have Rossi with 2 wins and Pedrosa with 2 wins in 4 races. Both Honda and Yamaha are capable machines, but right now, 3 of the top 4 riders in the world are scratching their heads, probably mumbling to themselves WTF.

I havnt watched past lap 5 one race this season. The podium is decided by lap 3 and the rest is just a borefest. Marquez never dominated moto 2 in such a dominant fashion when everyone was on the same bike. Now that hes on the best bike on the planet and beating his pathetically underachieving ( for 8 yrs now) teammate, hes labeled as a god. I wish I could be like Povol and believe in things like, GP is real, Iraq war is good, theres an omnipresent invisible man that grants wishes, england and canadas healt care system doesnt work, rich people should have more money, people on welfare are all lazy, and 99% of scientists are full of ...., but unfortunately Im not as opened or is it close minded as him.
Despite Hondas machinations to force Dorna to penalize Ducati for having an advantage, Ducati is still half a minute behind. This is that same lovely spirit that the japs showed at the Nanking Massacre AKA The Nanking Raping. Hey lets not just beat our opponet, lets slaughter 200,000 of their women and children as well.

The not so killer B's, Bautiata, Bradl, Bradley(and Butflow) are underachieving grid fillers.

Good ride for Nicky, crt championship leader, dug deep to finally spank his teammates.

CRT championship? did you pull this whole post out of your ...? Okay, yeah the winner was Marquez but the results were not the same as the end of lap 5.... If you hate MotoGP go watch F1 or NASCAR.

Oh yeah you're right I was mistaken. One of the four bikes that is capable of podium finished second when they usually finish third. That was a huge surprise to see. An even bigger surprise was the gigantic gap between the factory bikes and the rest of the grid. We haven't seen that in a long time.
Maybe you're not watching very closely but the .... bikes that filled the grid quota last yr are the same .... bikes that are filling the grid quota this yr. calling them CRT or not, is just arguing semantics.

Well, even if they had 24 factory bikes do you really think it would be any different? We'd still have 2 repsol hondas and 2 movistar yamahas disappearing after a couple laps, and it will just be a closer battle for 4th place. IMO what they really need to do is get rid of the factory bikes and turn the whole championship into a CRT battle... It's not ideal but anything is better than the ultra predictable results we are getting.

JKD, thank you for your post. I was honestly logging on here to create a similar one. I couldn't agree more. This season makes for absolutely terrible TV. Yeah, the last two races have been great action... FOR TWO LAPS!!! Then it's been a complete bore feast. Sure, if you're a MM fan, it's euphoria. But is it really? If he takes Pole and First Place in every race, is that exciting racing? Yeah, the writers and announcers will have a field day telling everyone how it's the most dominating performance of all time, and it would be. But where is the drama? Right now, this season is barely worth watching. Honda has single handedly ruined a sport & event that I looked forward to in years past. Is MM a great rider? Obviously. Is he also on the best ride in the sport? You tell me. Honda pursued it's own agenda with the fuel restrictions and engine limitations. They've created such a lob-sided advantage for themselves, it's hardly worth tuning in to watch. This advantage is exacerbated by the fact that they also have a great rider in MM. Put MM on the Yamaha Machine, or Ducati, if he's still THIS dominate, I'll shut up. But he won't be. Take last season, it was very evenly matched. It ended with Lorenzo taking 3 wins in the last 3 races. There were Honda tracks and Yamaha tracks as it was described. Fast forward to this season. Tracks that were "Yamaha Tracks" now slightly favor Honda. Tracks that were Honda tracks are now Honda Runaways. What's changed in a few months? Either it's A) the new limitations placed on machines, or (B God came down and touched MM on the forehead, giving him riding skills never seen before. Everyone knows what the answer is, but have stopped taking about it. With the deepest pockets on the grid, Honda has proven it's the best motorcycle manufacturer on the planet right now. Great, Manufacturing Experiment OVER! Let's move forward, past these absurd restrictions, and onto better racing.

Anyone see Cal's post race presser? I knew this would happen. I predicted it! He's unhappy (can't blame him) but he's already quite dejected and doesn't sound like a guy who's going to be able to give 110% only to finish 5th for very long. I think the wheels are starting to rattle in the Cal garage. They'll fall off fairly soon. I think even sooner than I expected.

It's unfortunate because I like Cal. I like his demeanor. That being said, Dovi is doing quite a bit better and I think Dovi brings a better attitude to the Ducati campaign. If Cal throws in the towel early, we'll see some fireworks. If that happens, I think Ducati will reminisce fondly the guy who rode the bike for 5 years in terrible form without ever once throwing the team under the bus. ...., Rossi himself gave Ducati 100% effort every day despite his disappointment.

I hope Cal tuff's it out. He's got the talent.
