Your Mom's House
Good post Literal Walter. I had too look up the word maven. I only usually have too look up words when reading Arrabi's posts. Agree, JK is a comedy maven, and if more people kept that in mind they wouldn't get so flustered. If you pay attention to the dialog, the guy is mocking people who "chase the American Dream" so really, it's Americans they're making fun of. Same can be said for much of the old SCTV bits, which eviscerated dozens of American icons thinly disguised by hilarious versions of their real names. One regular bit was the guy who did the ....... best impersonation of Bob Hope, totally skewering him for being such a mindless windbag in his later years. SCTV often was at it's funniest when they were getting revenge (so to speak) on American pop culture which always viewed Canadians as dull and overly polite bumpkins. I only go on at length because I get that you are a comedy maven, and because, as you yourself have pointed out, there really isn't much interesting race related stuff being discussed.
I agree, Canadian comedy has its place in the pantheon of great comedy despite it being a 'knockoff' of US/UK's best, and like MickDeez mentioned, TPB is some of the finest in modern times (though I must say, they've lost their way with the fame and fortune lately).
I think we've finally derailed the tired discussion. (See what I did there?) Think of it as a knockoff of Johnny's post below that wizzed over somes head.
Am I the only one that finds this debate tiresome
Get it? TIREsome!
Now on to another angry discussion. I thought I had mentioned the Moto2 drive through ...... If I did, nobody paid attention to it (come to think of it, much like Canadian comedy).
