Thoroughly entertained. Both Pecco and Jorge looked equally despondent. Pecco tho, clearly bummed because he could not utilize the advantage of the '24 bike because he was in pain, still . . . despite being back only 5 points behind, seems to be in his usual glass-half-empty mode.

Got a big kick out of Acosta. He's like the aggressive pup who pushes away others from the brood to feed on the mother. He's a scrapper.

The difference between Martin and guys like Marquez is not so much talent, as instinct. Marquez has it in spades.

Martin can very easily go on a downward spiral from here like Quartararo 2020. For the sake of the championship, I hope not.

It looked like all of the air was sucked out of the Pramac garage entirely when Martin went into the garage.

They looked absolutely shell-shocked.

The good thing is they get one more chance in 2 weeks here to right the ship.

Bad news is Pecco can get back to 100% by then and that's not good for JM's title prospects.

Even worse is MM is coming into form, and he stands a real chance of possibly overtaking JM in the championship by the end of the season.

Tomorrow’s test should be interesting.
I assume Yamaha will bring their new engine and HRC will make Bradl back to back the RCV and a Horse as I alluded to earlier.

KTM should let the team finally test P. Espargaro’s Batcycle, although I hear Miller and A Fernandez have to share a bike.

Also heard rumors that Ducati will let Bagnaia, M. Marquez and Diggia test the first version of the GP25.

Wonder what Aprilia will bring given 3/4 riders won’t be around next year?

I
I just have to say, that while it's probably a shallow thing to have an opinion on, but I hate Canet's tattoos. They look stupid as ...., and going all the way up your neck is absolutely moronic. I can't take people seriously who do stuff like this and I generally do not mind tattoos. I'm half expecting him to show up at a GP weekend with his face entirely tattooed.h

it's his life and his style. Doesn't affect you. I wouldn't do as he's done. But all the power to the lad.

Amusing and interesting comment from one of the Gazzeta.it commenters, translated via AI:

In the run-up to the Misano GP on Thursday, a modest “little game” had been proposed to the four riders at the top of the overall standings: put 10 motoGP riders in progressive succession by order of height. The result was that Bagnaia, Martin and Bastianini guessed the height of two or, at most, three riders, while Marc lined them all up perfectly. However, this very trivial exercise demonstrates the ability to concentrate and the lucid determination that makes the difference between an ace and a champion, and explains yet another asinine performance by a person like Martin who, otherwise, lacks precisely these distinctive traits, I will add no more...

Re: Canet

His body and he can do what he wants yes, but his “Bow tie” celebration was a protest against MotoGP teams who declined on him because of his tattoos.

You can’t simultaneously bang on the “My choice” drum for self expression and cry about conservative corporate types turning you down because you don’t have the marketable look they’re looking for.

Also, you have a Spanish passport. There’s a billion and one of them on the grid.

This is a great post.

People forget this is a business at the end of the day and teams make business decisions based on sponsors and other variables. If anyone has worked in, or been involved in a corporate environment, people with the appearance of Canet are generally not looked on favorably. One can argue whether this is right or wrong, but it's reality. Can't change it.
