Why warn the thread? The entire thing started as a thinly veiled disguise by Pinky to rehash his inclinations, so now how do you intend to contain what started as a farce? Surely you don't plan to close a thread because its "off topic". Plenty of people are playing along, now what? Are you gonna start closing threads one by one.

So then what is the problem? Could it be 'trolling' (as oppose to an issue of 'off-topic') getting the better of this thread? So if that is the issue, then what is the solution?

The root of the problem here is Pinky. If we are going to allow members like this to exist, then let the threads live on. Let the members who want to play along and have their fun continue. Otherwise, put on your thinking cap, and figure out a way to solve the 'trolling' problem under various aliasses (which is simply like spamming).

If it was donated it was willingly given. If in this case "No" then why is that different to any other team or rider in the series? Everyone sets out to exploit the other guy’s weakness whatever it is, play your own strength and steal away from whoever it may be the title.

Isn't it time for your medication?

yamaha donated that title to hayden. deal with it. if you can't go away. his title is a fluke. no questions about that. how much podiums he had after that comedian 2006 championship? answer is 5 from 34 races... on factory honda's bike. rookie dovi on satellite honda humiliated hayden even on laguna. hayden's territory you know. blame puig for that too?

I think if you look back at Casey's initial tests on the 2007 bike he was slower than Loris but still in the ball park and came through after a few tests.

This comparison is good because Loris was never blindingly fast on it anyway and Casey was still slower initially, after 2 or 3 tests everyone was saying WTF?

Nicki is not being compared to Loris (like Casey was) who was sort of average on the bike. Nicki is being compared to Casey who is real fast. Go and look at Melandri test times and Livio comments. They were NEVER comparable to where Nicki landed straight out of the box.

I think the key is to wait for a few tests and then we will know. I think it will work but that is my opinion only. I'm sure Sybil will have one of his personalities (like the tap dancing truck driver one) tell me I'm wrong.

with due respect jumkie, this is what the staff had agreed upon when the "trolling threads" started to appear like mushroom. sure, i can see the point of it being fun. but, too much of something, as we all know is not good. but, we can't always close thread like you said.

In our (the staff) discussion, we agreed to warn the thread for 3 times before closing it, hence my warning.

Ben said it'll be hard screening members and knowing they are the same person out to troll on our forum. Unless you know something we don't please feel free to discuss the matter with Ben.

puig is a man. because honda finally found someone who is not afraid to throw hayden away from the squad. next season will be a proof that hayden was instability factor in honda. not pedrosa and puig.

Did someone steal your corn flakes?
Do you see the smiley face after the post?
The post was a tongue in check jest at all the Puig threads/stories going around at the moment.

Time to chill dude...........

All Hayden like/dislike aside, do you really believe team chemistry will be any better next season with Dovizioso. There is already rumor of Puig and Pedrosa ignoring Dovi in the hospitality area. Dovi is a great rider and has a more compatible style to Pedrosa. So things should be happy-go-lucky in the Repsol garage next season, right?

Are you the author of that history book? I've never seen that book. The title must be: "how hayden sucks: my hateful opinion presented as fact"

Anyway, your failure to address Andy Roo's points directly suggests that you cannot address his points. You have no points.

"Will Hayden ever win a race for Ducati?"

Yes.

Yes in 2012 he will win win the WSBK championship for them.

In MotoGP 2009. No he won't win a race for Ducati.

Surely you can just do a whois check on the IP address and ban them?
You can also add an IP range ban in your admin index page.

Spot on.

we could do that, if pinky has done enough for a ban.

but i think the problems you guys were raising was not pinky itself but "spamming" by using multiple IDs, with which, we have no idea what to do.

as for the IP range ban, i don't know what that is.

anyway, like i've said, if anyone knows whhat to do with this, go talk to Ben as he also doesn't know what to do

Trolls don't worry me personally at all and as has been said this forum allows those so inclined the space to dissect peurile comments (which trolling pretty much by definition involves) mercilessly.

However I do appreciate the work of the moderators on this forum who all devote considerable time purely as a labour of love and who do perhaps have an obligation to maintain some standards on a public forum accessible to children and accessed by members at work etc.

If Hayden merely mimics Capi's performance on the Duc. then he has done an amazing job. I still believe Capi deserves alot of the credit for Stoners 2007 WC. EVery time he put his bike between Stoner and one of the chasers .... it not only took more points from the chaser, but it also added to the psychological battering that was occurring in 07.

So for Ducati ...... Given that they know that Stoner can aniilate the opposition when things are running well and niggling pressure of a close championship is removed, then Nicky will be a great addition as the "fly in the ointment". Sure many Hayden fans want to see wins from him and I myself thin it would be great too, however his true value to Ducati should be measured in the "fly in the ointment factor.

( Unless ...... Hayden starts to win straight up in the first few races then it will be in Ducatis interest for Stoner to assume the role of the fly in the OIntment. But at present it does appear that Stoner as the run man and Hayden as the blocker is more likely.

As an Admin myself, I find that a bit worrying boys...
I don't know the Admin site with this software but in PHPBB you can ban people, but also see all the IPs they have posted from and in that way enter all IP addresses for the Troll.
IP range banning is something I am hestitant with myself because you can end up banning innocent people from the same provider/region as well sometimes.

Other than that, some general rules on Trolling etc for all members. Third strike you are out.

See, it is not that hard. Just make me a mod boys!
