A Ducati front row.
Mir fastest in the warm-up.

Looking forward to it.
Should be a close race I hope [emoji41]

Espargaro not riding in the race because of his nasty high side practice crash.

How often do we see both riders for a team sidelined due to injuries?

The Ducati’s are looking supreme.

Valentino can smile that he had a decent qualifying at least. I suspect he will crash trying to maintain his position or fall down the order to get to the finish.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Martin holds it together and gets the win, but my bet would be on Pecco. The ducati’s have certainly been supreme this season. Fabio should be even more proud of his achievement this season. The might of the effort becomes clear when you see the fall in his and his team’s performance once he got the championship.

Agree. FQ seems to have well out ridden his bike, the Ducati looks to be the faster bike, he obviously really pushed in qualifying since running away in front was the main way he was able to win.

Yamaha have won the championship.
Not looking so good at the end of the season.
More work needed.

Safe to say Ducati is no longer the underdog.

Complete Ducati domination - haven't laughed so much since Bayliss won here on his wild card ride in 2006. Really fancy Martin as a title contender next season.

So I guess it's only right to mention it. Final race today. Years of entertainment, one of the most amiable riders to ever grace the sport, but pleased to say that he, along with his influence will still remain in the paddock if not the track. Thank you for the memories and we wish you well in your retirement Thomas Luthi.

Seriously though. Without question the nicest, most likeable and noble Italian rider of all time. It simply won't be the same without him. But I'm sure there isn't any genuine fan of this sport that won't be rooting for Danilo Petrucci in next year's Dakar.

Great to see Mauro Noccioli highlighted this weekend. Didn't even know he was still in the paddock.

Oh and...cheers Vale. Might compile a top ten of my favourite races.

Thank you Valentino for the memories. I'm not his greatest supporter, but he has been a constant for over %90 of my GP race viewing. Thanks for your service to motorcycle racing.

14.11.21

14+11+21 = ?

Apparently 46000+KM of racing completed. Very odd how this number comes up in this way.

Anyway, a decent finish for Vale in his final race. It's been interesting indeed watching him race, as well as witnessing his many rivalries which contributed to generating, in huge numbers, his lovers, as well as in similar fashion, his haters. An icon as he is, will surely generate lovers and haters, the latter being remarkably prolific in this forum. I don't think it a coincidence.

It's been great to see his fellow sportsmen and likewise, great achievers (in whatever endeavour) appreciate him for who he is and what he has achieved and will continue to do for the sport. The bigger picture is certainly clear. Of course, there is and will always be a selfish aspect to all his efforts as it is for us all, but it's always nice when it's clearly dual as it has been for him. It's great to see Pecco and Franco hug Vale with genuine affection and appreciation.

That was a fun race.

Nice win again by Pecco. He's getting stronger in his racecraft. Fabio is palpably on the backfoot in defending his championship next year.

Jorge Martin... jeepers. To come from vomiting all night, his last meal being the day before at midday, and putting on the performance he did is stunning. There's a lot of promise in him.

Thriller Miller hunkered down and managed his tyres ... nice run to third.

It's been a great season. I enjoyed all of it. So many ups and downs. I've never seen a rider win a dry race early in the season and by season's end is qualifying last in a dry race.

On watching a quick season recap, I think Pecco would have won the championship if he had managed to finish all the races. He crashed too often. Now that he seems to be keeping things together more often, he's now ready for next year.

Well, if nothing else, he's been the source of years of lively debate here. As the honey that for so long drew in the flies/trolls, he created a kind of teaching lab wherein one could observe the effective and ineffective ways to repel trolls. Not to mention, a place to observe human nature, watching how people of greater intellect and possibly greater social skills than mine, are so often unable to resist the compulsion to reply with corrections to trolls, despite full well knowing it for a fruitless pursuit.

FM21 sandbagging imo...but whatever.

I don't think so, although possible as always, depending on the glasses one looks through.

Morbidelli's last 5 race finishes:
18th, 19th, 14th, 17th and 11th

Vale's last 5 finishes:
17th, 15th, 10th, 13th and 10th

It seemed like he just finished ahead of Morbidelli again. ;)

'Whatever' is right since I had no idea about those finishes until I looked at them specifically just now. Your sandbagging claim had me curious. I was wondering the same thing myself, but Vale's pace in the race was genuinely quite decent.

Encouraged to see Jack make the tyres last and have speed at the end of the race.
Martin very impressive.
Pecco is favourite for next year at this point imo.

Unless Yamaha make a quantum leap power-wise, which history has shown they’re not likely to do.

Well the engine development has been on hold for the last two years, so I think they will all come out with more power.

With Remy and Raul in the KTM team next year, we will see if it is the bike or the riders, that KTM were having trouble with this year.
