Toseland to Yamaha in 2008 - It's Official according to a Dutch site

Fiat Yamaha: Rossi, Edwards, Michelin

Fortuna Tech 3: Lorenzo, Toseland, Bridgestone AND Michelin!!
<

A two tyre team is a real possibility (remember Tamada and Biaggi at Pons).

Rossi will insist on keeping Edwards with him.

A two tyre team is a possibility but I think Yamaha should consolidate with one tyre brand for consistency across the teams. Sharing of information would be much more useful if all riders are on the same tyres. Yamaha need to take a narrow focus, less is more, the opposite of Honda.

Of course there is an advantage to running a Bridgestone team, it gives them the opportunity to evaluate the tyres for a push in 09 if they felt the need to switch. Apparently Bridgestone aren't supplying any more teams so I don't know how this would work, this of course could change by year end.

I think the less variables Yamaha have to deal with the better, Michelin need to do a better job, with seven races left hopefully they can win a few.

When does JT's contract with Honda expire? I assume they'll let him ride the Yamaha straight after the final round. Thanks JT for winning the title, by the way you can't ride the Yamaha till Jan 22, stop by any time.

Good luck JT! Hopefully, you'll have full factory support and better tyres! Good to see a Brit (hopefully) getting a decent ride!

Thanks for the translation,Marijke.

JT will do very well and I agree that its a good moove for him to take the Tec3 ride...no pressure and it will give him time to adjust to motoGP in 2008

As none of the newly signed Yamaha riders know what tires they will be riding on, why are everyone assuming it will be Michelin for the Fiat team?
I suspect Yamaha are negotiating with bridgestone opening for the possibility to use stones rubber on all 4 or 5 bikes.

Since this seems to be (probably my fault!
<
) the James Toseland thread I have to say:

Well done on getting your first double, at Brands, showing how over-rated Bayliss is, and getting a VERY firm lead in the championship.

The guy is far too good for WSB, and his move to GP was a good idea IMO.

I agree completely, JT has strengthened his position further and shown himself to be a class above the rest, superbike has nothing more to challenge him with.

And Troy Bayliss did an excelent job today of proving all of my theories about him correct. Since Assen 2002 all he has done is fall off whn it counts and suck when things aren't perfect. Better than Edwards my ..., Jt is now the better rider.

You know what, please leave this thread, you're a troll IMO by coming up with downers on ANYTHING Brit related? And I couldn't give a damn if you mods scorn on me saying that.

Why did you have to troll in this thread? Is it because Bayliss is past it? Because no 'great Aussie' won anymore? Honda the quickest bike? LOL! I guess you didn't even watch the race as that Yam is by far the best package, and quickest on the speed traps.

OMG...HAHAH!!! A STONER fan saying someone else only won on the quickest bike?

Oh the irony.

Yes it may be the quickest bike, but you've still got to ride it, for example, where did Robbie Rolfo finish?
Race 1- 6
Race 2- 11

And if you're going to say someone is 'fluming' wins because they#ve got the fastest bike, you need to look just a little closer to home mate.

You don't do yourself any favours with your comments, so let's have educated, un-biased, well structured replies shall we

Well done indeed to JT indeed, storming ride. Bayliss? Good god! theres been a lot o talk on here bout Rossi folding under pressure, but today Bayliss just looked totally flustered. He crashed cause he was worried about the stop go? oh yeah why didn't Biaggi crash?

In the press this week Ive been reading about how Bayliss was out to spoil Toselands party for him and his fans. He was quoted as sayibng that was more important to him than winning the championship. What an arogant ........, sadly for Bayliss (funny for the rest of us) it's bitten him right on the arse.

It aint braggin if you can back it up, well you cant back it up if your on your arse in the gravel......

Back to JT, anyone, (myself included) who had doubts about him, is probably having second thoughts, I certainly am.

Roll on 2008.

Pete

That was the icing on the cake for me!

As you said, it bit him RIGHT on the arse, mind you, that was probably the tarmac rash.

He'll be happy next year when he has the 1200, he'll need it to keep up with the opposition at this pace.

Edwards better than Bayliss - you're kidding mate! Bad weekend for Bayliss for sure but wtf has Edwards done in motoGP? Absolutely fk all! Has he even looked like winning a race?

Now I don't like Edwards and am not likely to support him, but he did look fairly solid in Donny this year, and had he not been playing team orders with Rossi at Estoril, I reckon he could easily won it, he had the pace.

Bayliss never looked close to being a GP rider, he was just a superbike champion out of his depth with no adaptability.

I think Toseland is an excellent rider, and all credit to him for his performance this year and in his world championship year previously. Will he make it in motogp? We will have to wait and see, but I fear he may have lingered too long in world superbikes and riders who do this seem to have trouble in adapting to motogp, including Bayliss in the past and Chris Vermeulen now.

As for trashing Bayliss in general, this is just as ridiculous as the criticism of Capirossi etc by some of the Australian posters. The man is 39; everyone eventually gets old.

I agree with your concerns about JT, but your point about Bayliss is useless. I told you what i think of his riding and justified that, your only reply is that hes old but i don't really care about that. Do you think he should be given a break because of his age, should he get a head start (or 200cc advantage
<
) to keep him competative?
