Toseland to Yamaha in 2008 - It's Official according to a Dutch site

Itll be interesting to see how Toseland measures up against West????????

Maybe when West wins something Toseland will notice who he is.

I'm not a fan, but wish Toseland all the best in GP.

Pete

I'm glad to see a Brit with the bollocks to do it. Hodgeson wont go back coz he got his arse kicked, (as did Foggy) I'd rather see Toseland move up to the big boys on a bike that puts less pressure on him, take a learning year, then go for it.

Anyone noticed this is a non-rossi/stoner topic beyond 4 pages?

WE HAV A WINNA'!

Dont shout or CSWAYUSTVDREHJEO(IE whatever .... his name is will come in shoutuing and tell us how Stoner should get Toselands bike, or something equally thrilling.

Pete

From what I've read it's a two year contract.

Surely if he has any talent this is just a stepping stone to better rides? Kwaker and Zook said they weren't willing for a learning year rider.

Tom, If Toseland was offered a Gresini ride he should have taken it. He stated that he wasn't offered a Honda ride at all based on the article above. There's more to his signing than meets the eye I think.

Teo, there's no such thing as a bad relationship when it comes to business (especially big, bad tobacco). Besides that can all be glossed over since Tech 3 isn't an official Yamaha team. Heck, weren't they sponsoring Checa (and Melandri) whilst he was Rossi's team mate and still fighting with Yamaha over Barros too? I'm not sure but I think that was the case. I do recall it had more to do with Barros. Perhaps your referring to the switch from Galouaises (sp?) to Camel.

Genuinelly, to me, it appears as if the bloke has found what he reckons to be a good package, the man would NOT go somewhere he feels he would be slow and had no chance of decent results, had it been a .... deal he would have stayed in WSBK.

It's Phleg BTW.

DON'T YOU START!

He said Honda's main offer was world superbike, which leeds me to believe he would be too far down the HRC peckibng order to stay with Honda. JT is not an ..... and he wants to be the best, i am confident he will have signed with a team he knows are capable of winning races, and there is nothing wrong with tech 3.

I am a great believer that JT has made the right choice, i have no doubt that the Tech 3 bike will be much much more competitive than in previous years.
I truly think JT is gonna has a BIG year in 08.
thank you bye.

Two supersport wins and a podium in three races, shitting all over the current dominator and championship leader of WSS (Sofuoglu, who happens to ride for the same team as JT?) while learning the tracks, bike and tyres? I think he may have noticed those.. Maybe? Or no?

Anyway, back on topic.. Ive read that Toseland and his manager turned down offers from Dantin and Gresini to take this ride. There is NO WAY in hell Tech3 will be on Dunlops next year and its almost guaranteed they will be receiving new heights of factory support.. Im thinking Tose and CE will be paired up @ Tech3 and Rossi will be in the 'official' factory team with Lorenzo.. JT could learn alot from Edwards about SBK adaption etc, etc..

Honestly, there shouldnt be much to choose between all four bikes, like it was with Rossi, Melandri, Checa and Abe back in the day, when they were backed by Gauloises and Fortuna.. Exciting times ahead? I hope so

Moving from WSB to Gp has to be a good move whatever, this is JTs chance to prove if he has it or not.

Pete

Great. Another talented rider destined to ride to fail on that piece of crap Yamaha further proving the immortal status of Rossi.

Thats pretty much confirmed it for me Tech 3 are not on Dunlops next season and its likely Edwards will form the team with Toseland.
