No..it's not.

All the bikes were better...none of the riders were

Well, if you look at how Checa did, Yamaha surely wasn't far from Honda.

Rossi was clearly the best rider that year, but it still wasn't the same as trying to win a championship with Suzuki in this day.

No, it would be more like trying to win on a Honda in this day...

About as well as Capi did in 07, yet so few people mention Casey's bike disadvantage

If that happens, I'm gonna blame you for suggesting that it could happen.

Canepa is going to be along side Sete next year and Kallio is going to be by his lonesome self on the Pramac team. If they procure some extra finances we may see another teammate to Mika. THere was talk of Fonzi Nieto coming to the ONde 2000 team since his family is running the team so I would bet if Kawi leaves then that could very well happen and Niccolo goes back to Pramac with some help from Dorna to keep the grid at the min level of racers. WHat a .... year this is going to be. Small grid and .... tires. What a ...... joke.

Valentino Rossi has ruled out the possibility of making a guest appearance in the World Superbike Championship this year.2009

Speculation had been rife that Rossi would ride a Yamaha Italia-prepared R1 during the Qatari round of the Championship, possibly against retired reigning champion Troy Bayliss, but it is not to be.

"It was a fun idea, and I would have been very happy (to do it)," said Rossi, speaking at the launch of the 2009 Yamaha M1.

"Unfortunately it is a bit of a difficult period and I will not have the chance, but I hope that in the future, maybe next year, we can do it."

"I would still like to race in Superbikes and I would like to battle with Bayliss, because he is the world champion."

The rumours were sparked after Rossi was quoted as saying the racing in World Superbikes is superior to that of MotoGP.

However, the much anticipated 'showdown' now looks unlikely to go ahead.

Ducati boss Davide Tardozzi had earlier told Crash.net that his team were not prepared to enter a third bike for Bayliss, regardless of Rossi's intentions.
