The "his car isn't as good as the others" does not hold water. Rossi would have been somewhere around the bottom of the table when he joined Yamaha had that been true. A truly great driver is a truly great driver no matter what the car.
Besides, I am certain Ferrari would not like their image to be second place. Especially not to Renault

Utterly irrelevant. In 250's I consider Lorenzo a dangerous rider, does that mean I can't consider Barbera a dangerous rider? Problem is, the spotlight most of the time is on Schuey, not Montoya.

ok...but the situation is improving...it's better then last rear - he din't quit then...why should he do that now?

Then the montoya thing....well i don't cosider m.s. a dangerous driver...at least not as dangerous like others i gave example montoya...he's a lot more dangerous in races and qulaify sessions...

Beside during time...great champions made things, but ...not fair-play let's say.. i want to remind you of the rivalery of senna and proust...and what they did on track..so i don't want to go on about this.. in 1993.Prost took the championship after the infamous Suzuka chicane incident, where their two cars tangled Prost as Senna attempted to overtake. If neither McLaren finished, Prost was world champion. In 1993 Prost admitted that he had knowingly not moved aside as he had seen Senna approach. Prost supporters may say that Prost had the inside line, while Senna supporters may say that Senna's car was ahead and that Prost appeared to actually turn slightly towards Senna causing the cars to lock together and go off the circuit, across the chicane. .and also remember, but not sure that this was a returned favour after senna did the same.. about that - that i'm not that sure...- again i'm not comparring the two things.. RIP Senna

Next ferarri was sucessfull after schumi came along...he helped developed...a great car...he developed the car.. remember last year..did you expect thing to be that low? .. he got ferarri up and running now...

I think Michael is slower because of the car...not the driver. It's not like Massa is beating Michael.

I've already replied to this point, if the only reason he was fast was because his car was fast, he shouldn't be there. Rossi never used "slower bike" as an excuse for losing, the opposite, he managed to win constantly, despite being on a slower bike.

"F1 is all about the engineers"

Theres more skill invovled in riding a bike, its not hands on the wheel, controls and reactions like a car. It involves using the whole body. A lot more phisical, a lot more skill. A talented rider on a slow bike can do better in comparison to a talented driver in a slow car.

Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa confirmed Ferrari's early dominance at the United States Grand Prix by locking out the front row of the grid at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The German set himself up for a shot at a fifth USGP win by claiming the 67th pole of his career, and only ever came under threat from his Brazilian team-mate, although the two Ferraris were split by 0.6secs when the chequered flag fell.

So who's not fast anymore?

I don`t want him to go just yet,he has a good chance of redeeming himself in his remaining years .I`m not really an F1 fan but if it wasn`t for drivers like MS then I wouldn`t watch it at all.You have to remember he`s not been the only to use these sort of `tactics` in F1 through its chequered history.

Rossi never had a truly slower bike. He is fast because the bike is fast and vica verca. Do you want Rossi out too? Sure, his first season at Yamaha was a greate achivment, but more because he could get a bike with a hopless setup to be set up right than of riding a heap of crap around the rest. He proved the oposite, that the bike was good if set up good. Not as powerfull as Honda but better on brakes and in turns.

There are those, me not included, that still question Rossis ability because he has allways had the best equipment.

Schumacher on the other hand truly had bad tires last year. Very much like Rossis QP problems in the start of this year, but with the added penalty a bad QP is with cars.

Tyres are a big factor. Rossi on a Yam was a great achivement, but like Babel says, by no means impossible. Rossi on Bridgestones would be intresting...

I can't see him retiring until he wins it one more time, which is inevitable with Alonso at McLaren next season, and we all know the problems they have there.

No way should he retire he still faster than anyone out there, yeah alonso's in the lead now but he has a better car...or should i say had a better car. Schumi's gonna get ya Fernando!
