Well buddy, Mental, Steif, who is arguing a "right" to complain or citing "American arrogance", which is your entire basis for your post, which sounds like a Stoner defense to let him sound like what many detractors accuse him of, a moaner and whiner. Its about graciousness and not sounding like an insolent ...., which is what Casey is doing more and more these days, with a few others in tow. The US is as free as probably where ever you're from, but sounding like a rude kid transcends boarders. There are much better ways of framing ur issues. And Kravitz mentioned it.

Kravitz in fact only said what you and I and others had already said on internet forums anyway.

Indy is not famous for NASCAR, not even a little. Frankly, NASCAR isn't anywhere near as popular in the US as many Euro centric racing snobs would have us all believe. 12 miles from my home is the Daytona Int'l Speedway......that's a famous NASCAR circuit. Indy is completely different.

At the same time, MotoGP in the US is about as popular as Major League Soccer. That's not a compliment! Again, Euro centric fans are misunderstanding the US audience. Nobody including those at IMS will be even remotely put out by GP leaving Indy should that take place. If Indy were to host a GP race once a month it probably wouldn't contribute nearly enough to eclipse their two biggest yearly events. MotoGP just isn't that important here. Americans are absolutely inundated with professional sports. There are so many teams and sports that I can't foresee MotoGP ever becoming in the US what it is in Europe. It's great to have a GP race at Indy, if it leaves, there'll be 8 other channels to surf with non-stop sports.

If MotoGP doesn't want to race at Indy, so be it. I think one race a year at Laguna is plenty. If the Spanish fans want four races a year and will patronize them consistently, let them eat cake!! They deserve it.

By non stop sports you mean 24/7 Brett Farve and Tiger Woods .... coverage?

Well, that's not really my style but whatever you're into yah know...

Who am I to criticize someone's lifestyle choice? Especially when they're willing to come on powerslide at announce it...

Oh I get it. I'm gay because I pointed out that for about six months there all the US sports media outlets wanted to talk about was the Tiger Woods saga and some text message Farve sent to some chick.

How's that working for you? Being clever?

Additionally, Povol, I'm not aiming this at you directly but.....I travel. I travel more in six months than most Americans will travel in their lifetime. I have NEVER seen a NASCAR race on television anywhere in the world accept Mexico City. I have NEVER seen even scant coverage of NASCAR on evening sports programing anywhere I've been. 20 countries? I don't buy it.

You've never been to Australia then obviously! Either that or you have and just didn't know what free to air channel to turn it to! Casts some doubt over the rest of your travelling experiences then doesn't it.

Every NASCAR race shown Live, every qualifying session live, pre race shows, and multi reruns during the week to catch up on races missed. Probably mostly to do with the popularity of the Australian driver in the series for the last 3 or 4 years, but nonetheless, I wouldn't see why other countries wouldn't be similar if they have driver representation in the series.

Indy - fantastic facility, best of the season, ..... track, one of the worst of the season. Still not as bad as Le ....... Mans though.

Pretty much my feeling, everything is top notch, and to be honest, i found a place to watch this year that eased my dislike for the track. In the past, we always stayed on the inside portion of the facility so we would be close to everything that was going on around the display tents and vendor row. Of course thats where all the baby dolls are struttin their stuff. Went to the outside grandstands coming into turn 1 and it was like being at a different track. You could see them coming down the front straight, then turns 1-5. If they would send a Speed girl into that section about once every 15 minutes to shake her ... and hand me a beer, it would be perfect. This is close to where we were sitting, just a little further down out of turn 1

Thanx for the info. So u finally made it out to a US round, but u picked the wrong one.
<

Povol, next year, either buy a suite ticket, or ask one of the elevator guys (who are very nice) to let u go up to suite level railing on the back side of the suites. Go on friday, sunday he may not buy u just want to look. From there u can see entire back of track which is basically all of it except straight & turns 1-3.

I resurrected the topic from its grave because of an article written last year by some local hack at Indy. Read back a bit and mind the posting dates and you'll get it.

It is available, but no-one would tune it in. Throughout Asia and the Pacific NASCRAP is on satellite, same as Europe. The reason you don't see it is because no-one watches it. I'm sure the satellite providers love it because they can say they have 'x' hours of 'live' sport
<

We also get basketball, American football, baseball, ice hockey and Indy - but it's the same deal. Basketball and football get a few watchers, but other than that, no-one watches US sports.

We used to watch NFL when we lived in Oz because the alternative was either NRL or Aussie no-rules. No rugby to speak of. But that was 25 years ago and things have changed

Indy-big on cars with a bike race once a year

Le Mans-big on cars again but on MotoGP day the bikes loook like they belong because its a traditional circuit not encased inside a car raceway like Indy...........thats as basic as it gets for an answer,Krop..

.....dont get me wrong,I like the Indy circuit, but just put it elsewhere.BTW wasn`t this a problem with the Rockingham ........?
