i think cs is not up to doohans level as yet but it did take doohan a while to get to the top of the 500's and at honda and i doubt doohan would have reached the level that he did if king rainey didn’t have that accident but u cant compare these riders as the 500’s were a different era…but now that he will be on the honda u will see what a bad ... bike rider he is because as from sachsenring the honda has exceptional acceleration good cornering and is becoming a very quick and completive unit and this is what cs is best on…bring on 2011 cant wait…for the battles of the top 5-6 riders...bring it on

Andrea Dovizioso could be forced out of Honda’s factory MotoGP squad for 2011.

The Japanese factory looks certain to abandon plans to form a star-studded ‘super team’ with Honda struggling to attract investment to bankroll the three-pronged attack for next season.

HRC had intended to run Casey Stoner, Dani Pedrosa and 2009 British GP winner Dovizioso together.

Senior management had been locked in talks with energy drink giant Red Bull about a new sponsorship deal to help fund the triple-headed attack.

But those talks appear to have collapsed and current long-term backers Repsol seem unwilling to commit extra budget to run a third RC212V machine.

The big loser looks like being Dovizioso, even though he has a clause in his contract that says if he’s in the top five in the rankings after Laguna Seca, he automatically get a factory contract.

He might now be moved to the satellite squad run by Fausto Gresini next season but with the assurance he’ll be on an identical machine to Stoner and Pedrosa.

HRC marketing director Livio Suppo said: “Red Bull are not interested in coming with two bikes. But we are still speaking to try and find a way to start working with them. Technically we can run a three-man team but it depends on the money we find.”

HRC Vice-President Shuhei Nakamoto admitted that without additional financial support it was hard to imagine a scenario where Honda could run a three-rider factory squad.

Asked whether he faced the predicament of telling Dovizioso he’d be relegated to a satellite squad, Nakamoto said: “We have started talking with Andrea but nothing is decided.”

Hayden: Stoner 'shameful' to leave

Ducati rider Nicky Hayden says it is a "bit shameful" of Casey Stoner to leave the Italian squad to ride for Honda next year.

The Australian, world champion with Ducati in 2007, confirmed he will leave the team to ride for Honda from 2011, following a four-year stint with the Italian manufacturer.

Hayden feels it is 'shameful' of Stoner to leave after all the work carried out by Ducati to help him succeed in MotoGP.

"It's his decision, none of my business," Hayden told Gazzetta dello Sport. "But I think it's a bit shameful, as Ducati has done a lot for his career and has helped him in every possible way in winning races and the championship. But he's done a lot for Ducati too."

Stoner is expected to be replaced by Valentino Rossi at Ducati, and Hayden reckons the decision to hire the Italian is a no-brainer.

"Ducati would be crazy not to hire him: he's won nine titles, and he's come back at the Sachsenring with a broken leg. This shows where his heart is, and if someone still has doubts about his motivation...

"In the year we spent together I was a rookie and he was the champion. I wasn't even on his radar. I have a lot of respect for what he has done, both on and off the track. He is able to make a team stronger."

The American said he is willing to stay on at Ducati for a third season and that talks were in an advanced stage.

"Negotiations are advanced. I like the bike, I love the team, and it seems like they are happy with me. I don't want to go anywhere else."

Given that it seems a bit of sour grapes and that thats not normally Hayden, I wonder how much embelishment, by the editors, went into it
<
eg. maybe Hayden said "its a bit of a shame ........" which is easily "misinterpretted" to "its a bit shameful" .... I know which headline would sell more
<

Anyhow none of it really matters cos its a done deal now.

Besides if there is "shame" to be felt Ducati have been a bit "special" at times.

Was Hayden's move from Honda shameful?

Will Rossi's move from Yamaha be deemed shameful?

I wonder also why this is coming out now? Do Ducati feel left on te shelf? Maybe Rossi is not really going there so things look very very ..... very bleak.

What I really love is gpone using this story & the rumour of a seat at Tech3 replacing Spies to fuel the Rossi to Ducati stories. While at the same time running a story about Edwards going to Ducati to replace Haga in WSBK.

Sounds like some Southern-fried brown nosing to me; talking about loyalty to Ducati and what a swell guy

the soon-to-be new #1 rider is.

My first thought was that Nicky's comments were messed up in the translation. Definitely doesn't sound like Nicky's exact words.

I think Stoner is making a good decision for his career. He can't get the Duke where he wants it.

That's not on Keshav

I have a little more faith in Nicky than that. A little Italian bad translating or .... stirring is more likely.

So you don't think it was an "intentional" mis-translate? Some of these folk writing these articles seem to be from a long genetic line of Steam train coal shovelling types
<
<

Must admit kinda give them the benefit of the doubt, but maybe I'm giving them some of Nicky's "gentlemanliness/diplomacy"?
<

They do seem hell bent on the Rossi rumours etc.
