I have yet to see you prove that - which is, after all, the only statement I have had an issue with, but you seem to be fond of rabbit holes, smoke and mirrors and less interested in sustaining statements you make.



I am quite prepared to further substantiate viewing figures, Dorna's ownership, TV revenues... where is your proof?

Honestly I'll make him a cup of tea, and you too. He jumped on one sentence in a larger post that was really a throw away. Then he wouldn't let it go, so I had some silly internet fun.



No harm intended, if he wants to insult me I'm easy. I'm fat, crippled bald, career challenged, only have failed relationships (any wonder?) and I'm a smart arse playing out my numerous personal inadequacies on the internet.

And read back through my posts. Whilst slinging .... I did support my throwaway line HOWEVER the absolute purpose of my post was to make the point, as I have for years that WSBK is a competitor nipping at motogp's heels.



Not that Chinese Restaurants in Seville have changed their recipe for roast duck .



The original "straw man" quite correctly was the bounce on some complete irrelevancy I threw away in a post and he got some sand in his ...... over it.



But then after that I produced all the goods to say that Europeans economies are becoming increasingly beholden to China and no one has given me a naming right sponsor (apart from bike manufacturer) to a motogp team that isn't European. I listed them and still have a bucket in reserve.



But I got run over, and I got a little head injury, + 27 other broken bones, 2 punctured lungs and so on and I don't take too much seriously, we were just playing.



BTW, I mark Uni papers (sad poor unfortunate students) on and off for Charles Sturt and chasing down a peripheral irrelevancy is strawing it out. Go back and read them through. Was the China Spain Italy attack the original straw man? please read even the wokipedia one.



Instead of dancing like a fake tanning victim on a gay Mardi Gras , come up with an alternate position and state it.

My experience is that those mud flinging's evolve into good relationships. I argued like the devils business with a few of you guys back in 2008. Most of you I now regard highly, many of you sent me cards and stuff while I was in hospital. Jumkie sent me a whole shirt (Benito Solis) and to ride with this bunch of crackpots would be akin to a religious journey.

Sincere condolences at loosing the leg mate. That is easy to say, but I am sure no one can truly comprehend that loss until faced with it, but better to be alive with one good one than dead with two ...... ones.



I travel a lot to Spain and Italy for work, and have been there within the last month. The ecconomy in both is pretty much screwed, but most Spanish and Italians are so engaged in their day to day lives to even notice. Seems the rest of the world is more concerned than many Italians and Spanish.

In saying that, there is still plenty of money going around. Football stadiums are full, resturants are full, people are still out shopping and spending money. I think the strong Spanish and Italian companies will continue to spend money sponsoring sports that bring them business. The problem is there will be fewer and fewer strong companies able to spend sponsorship money.

You cannot understand how huge GP racing is in Spain until you go there. Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Marquez are as big in Spain as the big football stars (as is Fernando Alonso). There will always be Spanish money for sponsorship of these guys. There might not be the money for sponsoring other teams, and Moto 2 / Moto 3.

DORNA has placed too high a priority on Spain and Italy, but seriously this is where the sport is most popular. They need to try to generate the same mainstream following in other areas, and then the sponsorship dollars and corporate support will follow. No idea how to do that though.

The Spain and Italy thing is problematic. As we saw with Greece the EU will get to a point where they dictate austerity measures. It may be a long shot, or sooner than we think, I know that here in Oz the treasurer is doing nothing but giving us gentle warnings that things are slowing, interest rates down, BHP announcing no new expansion on key mining sites and so on.



IF and I like the hypothetical (if) to not unfold, but if the debt issues hit austerity measures in those countries and this involves changes to taxation (company tax, specific deductibility) as it did in Greece then this could dry up rather suddenly.



I think motogp (unlike WSBK) has its eggs all in one basket, and that by getting Caramels grubby little fingers on that basket (the WSBK one) he can create a safety net for a dumber motogp series AND now remove the competition by controlling how level the playing field is between the two.



He might just prove me wrong by really kicking the WSBK series along. I'm always prepared to bet a few beers on that though. In another thread someone (birdman?) called it MotoSpainVR or something like that. Getting back to my point, Casey Stoner will never really fit into a MotoSpainVR business plan, however the business plan doesn't really include me or us down here.
