Silly Season...looking to 2014

Quote:

"American Honda is in talks with HRC about placing Hayden alongside Stefan Bradl in the LCR Honda team, riding one of Honda's production racers. The Kentucky Kid still enjoys huge popularity in the states - items related to Hayden often fetch the highest prices at the Riders for Health auctions held at MotoGP events - and American Honda is keen to capitalize on his selling power.

It is, Nicky Hayden told reports, a question of money. Somebody has to pay for this, and in the case of placing Nicky Hayden on a production racer at LCR, that somebody would be American Honda. "Only if American Honda would support this idea does it become possible," LCR Honda boss Lucio Cecchinello told Italian site Moto.it. A final decision for LCR will come at Misano, in mid-September.

With the news that Indianapolis will remain on the calendar for 2014, it seems likely that Dorna will encourage American Honda, and help support Hayden at LCR, or any other team he wants to remain at. The US market remains critical for Dorna, and Hayden is one of the keys which they are continuing to use to try to unlock the market. Until a replacement comes along, Hayden has a place in MotoGP." So, uhm, yeah, .... all those Spanish riders who get their rides only because of their passports.

Your just scared Nick will show up your fellow countryman Bradl! :taunt:

I'm not worried. My other fellow countrymen Marquez, Lorenzo and Pedrosa are pretty sure to beat him.

Stop confusing him!  Otherwise I will be forced to explain (once again) to an American that Europe is not actually a country :wallbash:

Thanx Geo. Tobal, like who? Which proto rider is AlexEspargo better than?

I'd say Smith, and probably Bautista or Bradl. Oh, and about anyone on a Ducashit.

Whats looking silly now is motogp is going to be a 1 Horse race 2013-2023

and Dorna want ppl to pay ££ $$ €€ to watch this

not bashing MM Etc but Dorna have got a problem imo selling this to the TV / Subscription masses.

with a competitive bike I think Hayden still has some potential, and certainly there is a marketing advantage having 3 US races.  LCR is potentially a good fit if the money is there.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. What's the thousand here?

hayden + aleix espargaro on aprilias next year?

krop, any trustworthy news on what exactly aprillia will be doing next year(and how much fuel and what sort of cylinder head that'll involve)? seems logical to  pull out in wsbk if they want to step it up in gps

Randy ain't leaving the paddock.

Alex ain't leaving aspar

Nicky is gonna ride the proddie

Crash caught up Nicky on Thursday and he says he still doesn't have a clue as to his ride for next year.

I honestly wish he would go ride something competitive in WSBK, he certainly has a chance to win there.  On the Production Honda or Forward Yamaha he's most likely still going to be competing for 5th on a good day, with an average finish of about where he's finishing now.

Crash caught up with Nicky? The Duc can't even outrun those schmucks. Anyhow.... A number of bride's maids have left MGP to compete in WSBK - but as yet nobody who's actually won the premiere class championship. My guess is that Nicky doesn't want to be the first; reluctant to be the one to set the precedent.

True but he could also be the first man in history to have a GP & Wsbk title, and an AMA one to boot. I think there is value there. Hes got his hesrt set on staying in GP, unfortunately thst means battling for a top 10 and a chance at being the 2-dicks on a bike 'podium' CRT finisher. Staying in GP is a mistake.

In round figures how much difference in pay would it be for Nicky?

Production racer vs one of the top WSBK bikes

Doesn't say much for what the riders really think of WSBK.
