Silly Season...looking to 2014

And just look how he has improved since he got them.

Alvaro is doomed ;)

He may very well be, his team not only want to succeed  but the team sponsors want exposure, Alvaro is giving neither, a big buck sponsor is a very hard thing to find at the moment and they must be looking at what Cal is doing for Monster with envy, don't write of a big buck move to Gresini for Cal, He is capable of giving them the same exposure Marco did.

As much as some people on here dont ,like to admit it, at some point these guys do think about their future. Cal is not a young racer, the window to set himself up financially for life is getting narrower by the day. Unless he is promised IN CONTRACT, a factory contract starting in 2014, he will take the Ducati, or whoevers money, and run if  offered. Who gives a .... if you finish 4-5 on a satellite Yamaha, or 6-7 on a factory Ducati, especially if you are making 5 times the money.   Who knows, maybe Cal could catch lightning in a bottle at Ducati like Stoner did.

Agree 100%. And realistically, there is virtually no room left for improvement in terms of results for him on the sattelite Yamaha. Why should he stick around then, when there's no chance of a factory ride, and results cannot get better, but can get worse?

I wish Yamaha wouldn't be so hell bent on keeping Rossi. There are effectively two riders out there that have done more to deserve that seat, and both of them, rather than being rewarded, are likely to see out the remainder of their careers on uncompetitive bikes.

if bradl doesn't get a third year on that rcv to once and for all prove himself i'm gonna burn the local honda dealership down.

a shame he is not interested at all in supers, heard he had a pretty serious offer by bmw while still in moto2.

well, enough time till brno /PI to get that podium and some hair rollers to make him more attractive.

SBK on a bmw would be a great place for him. He´s unlikely to ever get a factory seat in motogp.

sadly i agree. it's a shame though, we've all seen how great some riders can get if you give them enough time.

i'd argue that guys like dovi...and indeed cal...obviously needed quite some time to reach their potential and this isn't my inner fanboy speaking but i'm convinced stefan still has a lot of room for improvement. he's not a hothead that makes up for that last bit of lacking talent by excessive pushing , he needs that time.

it's absolutely unexcusable that , at least in my mind, often the crashers are preferred to the guys who slowly get closer and closer to the limit

Disagree, to me it always looked like Dovi pretty much got to his potential in his rookie year and pretty much stayed there. His second season when he got factory equipement was probably worse than his rookie season on the Scott Honda.

true...but bradl has been no stranger to losing the front end mid-race resulting in a dnf

true that, but that was solved by a front end tweak. compare especially jerez to what he does now. more of a set up issue than his work method

my point is he isn't like say lorenzo or simoncelli in their rookie seasons ;)

offtopic: did cal whine as much in the bbc or other feeds as much as in sport 1? the knobhead could only keep talking about how unfair everything is and went on to talk a lot of .... about bradl and how he got so many podiums in his first (!) year compared to him.

dude got alzheimers, i remember him being spanked by abraham on the 800 altough he clearly had the best satellite bike and karel the worst.

god i hate that guy, nowhere near the talent of other english speaking riders but twice the mouth.

Good piece by our resident Korean motorcycle journalist Krap Pot Kim on the moto arrears site. Plenty of chatter about Bradl, Crutch, Redding etc and potential rides next year

Crack-pot-kin?

By the way Krop:

"Putting two and two together (something all too often in the paddock results in a number which does not resemble four)"

I'll just take as another 1984 reference. Tell you what, if manage to do 3 more, of my picking, I'll send you a bottle of wine.

Was more a matter of the bleedin' obvious, rather than 1984. I'll take the wine, though...

How about Redding on the factory Ducati?

There are rumors, but a lot of things would have to happen for that to fall into place.

Lets hope not Crap Pan Kit !

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;<span style="font-size:12px;- TBD
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;Honestly, as much as everyone wants to bash Bradley, he's showed steady improvement, look at Crutchlow's first season, Bradley is right on track. He'll stay at tech3 another year for sure.
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;The other seat will probably go to Pol Espargaro. But why is beyond me! I'd rather see Aleix on that bike than Pol. Aleix has a lot more mental strength than Pol IMO.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;<span style="font-size:12px;- TBD
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;Ducati signed the 2 year deal with Ben Spies with full factory support. Based on a few interviews with Ben and Ducati I'm going to say if he shows his speed at Indy, they'll probably give him the factory seat next year. They want an American rider, and lets be honest, in the past few years, Spies has shown he's the best American rider. Forget about 2012 and all the horrible results and technical failures, and look at the WSBK title, his fantastic rookie season, his promising 2011 season. This guy is the best American rider there is right now. Hayden off to WSBK or maybe a Pramac / production GP bike. I hope he goes to WSBK for a team other than Ducati.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;<span style="font-size:12px;Gresini Honda

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;<span style="font-size:12px;- TBD
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;Bautista has shown his potential, and seriously Honda need to kick him off that bike. He's not going to improve. He's already taken out several other riders and is the laughing stock of the prototype riders. I'm hoping for Cal Crutchlow to get the Gresini seat with full factory support, hopefully he gets Ohlins forks and Brembo brakes though... If Pedrosa doesn't win the title this year, we will see Cal Crutchlow on the Repsol Honda bike in 2015. Bryan Staring is definitely gone next season.
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;<span style="font-size:12px;LCR Honda
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;<span style="font-size:12px;- TBD
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;Bradl deserves one more year. He's showed steady improvement, but he really needs to make another step forward. If he doesn't, he's done.
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;<span style="font-size:12px;Pramac Ducati
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;<span style="font-size:12px;- TBD
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;<span style="font-size:12px;- TBD
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;Ianonne really isn't going well on the Ducati. I doubt he will get another chance next year. Honestly now, I think Pramac has done a horrible job for the past few years. It's hard to say it's 100% the riders fault, but seriously, not one person has ever done well on the Pramac bike. Let them run some CRT bikes and give Marc VDS a bunch of Desmo's next season. If that happens, Scott Redding will surely get one of them. I'm thinking if it's Marc VDS who runs 2 Ducati's next year, Bautista will probably get the other seat.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;Aleix and Randy are definitely staying. They'll run the Aprilia next season which they are saying will be getting a big bump in power soon.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;Laverty is doing very well and Paul Bird likes him a lot. Yonny Hernandez is kind of flakey, sometimes he is great others not so much. I doubt he will race another season in MotoGP. Probably another british rider will join the PBM team and they will run Yamaha powered in house special frames.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;Edwards is great for public relations, he's not going anywhere. Claudio is similar, and he's fast. Same line up next year, but Yamaha powered FTR bikes next year.

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;I think the biggest thing is what the satellite Ducati team will be. Marc VDS is showing a lot of interest in stepping up to MotoGP. They could probably swipe the 2 desmo's from Pramac.
