Silly Season...looking to 2014

Nicky is still searching for the worst possible option. FML. Btw, I was unaware that the new "production racer" could simply be last years factory satellite. So whats stopping HRC from simply leasing Bradl & Alvaros bikes to a new team?

Meanwhile, Melandri is being assertive.http://superbikeplanet.com/2013/Sep/130906nmdsxc.htm

Also, does anybody know how Hopkins trackday for Cresent Suzuki went?

so nicky is just one tenth faster than bayliss on a sbk.

i rate bayliss a ton (childhood hero and all) but i would have expected much, much more from hayden.

.... stoner, bring back bayliss!!

have to admit i think the scar and stockings make johnny look super sexy

First time on Pirelli's???

i thought that shouldn't be in the same league as getting acquainted with especially the older bridgestones of lately.

i may be totally wrong, but i've often heard that the top off the shelf pirelli race rubber isn't THAT far away from the sbk stuff whereas there isn't anything that comes even close to the brickstones.

all in all nickys best option, i'd 10 times rather see him on a potentially not that great duc than on any other bike of which you just know it is absolutely impossible to podium/win

cliche agreed, would rather see him in WSBK.  Anything he takes in MotoGP even the proddy Honda still puts him circulating about where he is now.

2014 Silly Season (starts in 2013).

Btw, I love the prospect of overrated Pedro finally gone but I doubt it will happen, not with a Lorenzo defection at least.  I think this is just Jorge being savvy again to extract money from Yamaha (as he did by pretending to entertain Ducati's 15 million dollar offer).  Honda don't need him and Yamaha would only survive with him.  I predict Pedro will continue to ride for HRC, though he has no heart of a champion.  I thought he had actually turned a corner last year, seemingly battling for position against Lorenzo, but now he seems back to his old ways of wanting to stay clear of fights.  He seems to be waiting for others to make mistakes or get injured so he can pick up the pieces.  Pedro has been so lucky these last few years too, as the timing of contracts and the exit of Stoner has extended his tenure at HRC.  Cal or Redding could and should have easily been considered for this coveted second seat.  Oh well, the superior RCV will continue to compliment his results fooling naive easily influenced and ignorant spectators that he is actually worthy of being grouped with the "aliens".  Though the only "alien" thing is him wining a championship.

I would love to see Pedrosa at Ducati.

This is my dream. (But now!  On the current bike; Not later when Carmelo finally realizes how embarrassing it is to have a "factory" being pounced by CRTs, and then decides to give Ducati 30 liters of fuel, a one lap head start, and a <strike>SNS</strike> SDS (Special Ducati Slick) tire.

Looking very likely Nicky will be on the ART next year, with the tyres, fuel and new pneumatic valve head he will fly, he is far better than Aleix so i'm looking forward to that.

Randy dePuniet should be ahead of Aleix Espargaro, but he isn't. I think Nicky will do okay, but I seriously doubt he will be doing as well in 2014 as Aleix has done in 2013. Riders have different styles that suit different bikes. Nicky Hayden isn't exactly a wheels in line rider, which is very much what this bike needs to go fast.

Yeah ok.

Espagaro (Aleix) has been a revelation on the Aprilia ART. I don't know why people are discounting him as not as fast as Hayden. I'm not discounting Hayden either as he earned his championship. But I think I group him with pretty much everyone else that is not considered an 'alien'.

Because he is Spanish and that makes you undeserving of a ride, due to the fact that <insert ........ conspiracy theory>.

Yeah ok.

I'm glad we are in agreement here.

Still we have to see if the Aprilia is a factory spec bike. Let's not forget the only reason they are so close to the Ducati's is they have the super soft tire. And Aleix is suited perfectly to that bike.

Aleix would seem to be rather good.
