Actually West started from the wrong place on the grid. That's what he got a penalty for. He was in one of the 250cc grid slots instead of the motogp ones and hence gave himself a small advantage. Can't believe nobody pointed it out to him BEFORE the race though!!!

You'd think one of the marshals would off said something. A rookie mistake maybe but somethings needs to be done to prevent this from happening again...

He could have tried at Stoner, but look what happened to Nicky making a risky passing attempt. Not worth it. I trust Dani did his best, and a podium is another impressive result.

I feel bad for West but its his second fck up in as many races. Not a good sign for the future.

IMO its the Bike and Tyres... i know he is very talented but he has had a massive advantage this year. Cant wait to a All bridgestone line up next year!

an4rew I totally agree about Melandri to Pedrosa's performance in 2007?...but Melandri has to really prove himself as a #1 rider in 2008 especially with the a champ like Stoner and Pedrosa in the field of the 2008 motoGP paddock!!!...I still wonder about Melandri's performance and ability??? And that is on the Ducati in 2008???

And aslo Rossi's performance in 2008??? I hope I'm wrong but I don't think SO!!!

Antfan im a very proud ‘yobbo mate”...but im not dumb!!! and that is like ant west!!! and hes proven it in 2 races so far one after the other mind you!!!...‘what can we expect NEXT???” im really embaressed for from the motogp.com commentary eventhought nick, gavin & mark have stuck up for ant west's stupidity!!!...i dont know why???

I think it is extremely likely that the honda will be very fast next year. I can't see ducati maintaining an advantage long term, unless the desmo system by some happenstance is uniquely suited to the current engine formula.
