IMO in the races Rossi is doing good, but there is huge difference in qualifying.

Not happy with his Bridgestone tyre technician apparently. They knew they had issues in warm up but his tyre technician recommended not changing the tyre pressures.

Doesn’tmatter NO excuses for Stoner, tyres Bridgestone technician blah blah blah, but hewill do better at Sachsenring as he said, this season will be a veryinteresting one, and Stoner better pull his finger out, he can’t be complaisantespecially with Pedro coming good and Dovi on his heals not mentioning Spiesand Simo also and can we include Rossi doing another Jerez on him through theseason and gettin back on his bike and coming 3rd

My point is, i asked a similar question but because im not a stoner fan i got flamed. 320i asks the same thing but because he expresses he is a "huge" stoner fan he gets a civil answer.

I remember in 2001 when qualifying seemed to be a real issue for Valentino - which was great to then watch him carve through the field. Catalunya that year immediately springs to mind - in addition to the post race pugilism.

well he aint doing it this year!!! and the comparison is just not there i dont know why we even bother

stoner is much better and rossi will have to pull his finger out be it this year or next or the year after if we can even make any comparisons

True. The reason is that Rossi does not trust it for all-out 110% laps, as needed in quali. As long as the bike remains understeering, he'll never have that kind of feeling, imo. By now it's clear... Chapeau to Stoner for that!

To use past years times to compare to this years is nothing but grasping at straws to find positives. Guess what? There are none right now.

Rossi's best time is 1.6 seconds faster than Stoners best last year? That's what you are using right?

So Stoner would have finished over half a minute behind him on the same bike then, going by your ridiculous logic?

Are you telling me you think Rossi would be beating Stoner on the Ducati? No chance in my opinion & no way he would be over half a minute further up the road.

Not even the most avid Rossi fan would believe that garbage.

Like I said, you are absolutely grasping at straws to try to put a positive spin on where he is on the Ducati right now.

The fact that you even went to the trouble to check past race times on a resurfaced track with no doubt different tyres & different conditions tells me you sure are desperate for something positive.

Friz, take a deep breath -- what I was comparing was the improvement of the fastest Yamaha (Lorenzo 1.2 seconds faster than himself) against the improvement of the fastest Ducati (Rossi 1.6 seconds faster than Stoner last year).



The point was if Rossi was trying hard enough, and if the Ducati has improved or gone backwards. The numbers tells us that Vale is trying hard enough and that the Ducati has improved, although not enough to stay with Honda and Yamaha. Period.



All the rest is the usual nonsense. I'm trying to discuss data precisely to stay away from that.

BTW I did mention the resurfaced track -- it was the same this year both for Lorenzo-Yamaha and for Rossi-Ducati, wasn't it -- so the comparison automatically takes the track variable into account.

I've been too busy preparing the yard for you suitcase ......s to visit. I can't be out done by Arrabi's hospitality, so I've hired a personal chef. Though that chef wasn't cooking but helping me move a shed so I can store my .... out of sight. Plus its American's Bday weekend, so I haven't had time to post. Btw, its hotter than a mofo, so make sure you bring shorts and a tshirt, no Ninja suits on this trip. Plus, like some Rossi fans, I turned off the TV after Nicky was not going to win.
