Childish, immature and spiteful - I love it  :good:

I take it this is to be sung to the tune of "Love is all around" by Wet wet wet?

I think a factory Honda or a factory Yamaha will win.

Unless it rains.  Then there is a good possibility a factory Yamaha or a factory Honda will win.

Your going out on a limb with that one

I predict some dummy will create a prediction thread that predicts the predictable. After that I predict someone else will create a qualifying thread where we will all pretend that qualifying matters and the result will somehow be different.

I predict one Factory Yamaha rider and a bunch of Ducati and Satellite riders will provide approximately 137 different <strike>reasons</strike> excuses as to why they can't brake as late, carry as much corner speed or open the throttle as early as the fast guys.

Shame to waste em ;)

Mick,

I get these gratis and can't really pass them on nor sell (not that I would ask for cash for something I don't pay for). They'll probably already be in someone else's name but will check for you. Will let you know, let me call some people.

Povol lets discuss this word "Sport" you use to define GP because I dont see anything "sporting" about it

You love to use metaphors, colloquialisms and comparisons to color your viewpoint so I will humor you and do the same.

Did you watch the Broncos v Cowboys game yesterday? Great game huh. 99 points scored or for our British mates I will say 98 more points then your average soccer game.

Peyton Manning looked great as he has all year. Did you see Tom Bradys game? Didnt look so great did he? Why is that do you think?

Two hall of fame " alien qb's with two opposite results. If I took your GP logic and applied it to the NFL i would believe that Peyton is suddenly an alien among aliens and Brady is .... while entirely discounting that this is almost the same Bronco team that took Tebow to the playoffs and a Patriots team that has not one recognizable name on the offense.

Lets not forget how Tebow is doing. He is sitting on the church pew on sunday because he cant find a job as a 3rd string QB In the NFL.

Lets change the names around a bit now. Lets call Brady Iannone and Manning Marquez. What do you think would happen if Iannone was QB of the Broncondas. and Marquez the Patrucatis? Same result right?

Now lets get back to the Broncos / Cowboys game. What if Jerry Jones and Broncos owner wrote the rules that catered to their players. What if there was no salary cap and only those 2 teams outspent everyone.( you know like baseball but its never the teams that spend the most that win each year is it?)

So year after year we would be treated to what we saw yesterday. Two obscene teams that noone could compete with but each other. How sporting would the NFL be if only those 2 teams could win each week, year after year.

The NFL has become the envy of every "sporting endeavor" in the world. Its popularity is ever growing? Is that because the same two teams win year after year or is it because its exactly the opposite?

On any given sunday is a most appropriate term to describe it. Try to pick 1 winner off the schedule each week for the rest of the year. I bet you anything you cant do it.

There is nothing "sporting" about the manufactured parade we see every week.

In 2006 I took my brother to Laguna. He is not a racing fan and knows nothing about it. I recently explained to him that Kawi and Suzuki no longer raced and the bikes left are so nannied up that each corner has its own setting that determines how much throttle can be used. His reply was " so who would want to watch, thats not racing"

Interesting response from a non fan and I couldnt argue with him

I will respond by telling you for the thousandth time. It is not  a recent phenomenon in Moto GP where you have a handful of bikes capable of winning, or runaway victories. Anyone that has been following the sport longer than the Rossi bandwagon era could tell you this. This is prototype  racing, and rarely in prototype racing do you have competitors covered with a blanket like production racing. All you "fans" who cant seem to concentrate long enough to enjoy the series for what it is, are the same ones who lauded F1 for regulation after regulation to tighten up racing, and look what you have. A runaway of epic proportion. Thats prototype racing, more often than not, you will have a team that is just better, from the engineers  to the rider or driver. And again, i would tell you that there are series that will give you what you are looking for, go find one, and quit trying to turn GP into something that will grab your short attention span.

Yeah, cos all they do is whack the throttle to the stop and let the ECU do all the rest...

That ECU must also tell them exactly when and how much to pull the brake lever, when to tip in, how hard to tip in, how much weight to put on the pegs and the exact body position, etc etc etc blah blah. Clever little thing, eh? Who knew neuromechanics had come so far?

That post wasn't pulled from the likes of crash.net circa 2007 was it?
