Was kinda hoping they would test tomorrow. That's when my videopass expires. :furious:

Ah well. Can't wait to see what happens on their new bikes!

To bad about the start, Marquez had the pace to battle Lorenzo. It just goes to show the Rossi ....... from last year and obviously a few still this year, how hard it is to go forward on this track when you are racing other quick bikes. It took him half the race to get around the much slower Rossi and Ianonne but once he did, he left them in a cloud of dust. It is fitting that Lorenzo go out with a win with Rossi nowhere near him, not even having to share the podium with him. Its all about Jorge today.

I still think they are testing on their old bikes. The new bikes arent out yet.

Great race, Lorenzo got a well deserved victory and a great send off for his time with Yamaha. The battle for second that took place over the majority of the race was fantastic with 4 different manufacturers all lapping within 0.1 seconds of one another, a nice complement to the 9 winners this season.

The rule changes this year with the standardised electronics have worked really well and improved the racing. Michelin seemed to get the front tyres right in the final round of the season, better late than never. At least the tyres will be much better come Qatar in 2017 meaning less tyre related crashes and a much closer championship battle when it gets to the pointy end of the season.

KTM went as expected for a first crack at a race, with BS and PE on the bike during this weeks testing should give a better indication of its performance.

The 2017 bikes are at Valencia. They will start the test with 2016 bike, then switch to the 2017 after getting reference points.

Oh no. Was hoping to see the new ones.

I guess this won't be such an important test for the riders who aren't changing manufacturers then?

I think that over the 2 days they start testing wiht the 2016 bike and move over to the 2017.

Actually, the best thing about this weekend was the appearance of Sammy Miller on Les Graham's AJS Porcupine. Problem was, it was pissing so much oil he couldn't get the thing on track for a parade lap.

Very impressed with Iannone today. Although quite bizarre that Lorenzo was able to muster up such an indomitable performance this weekend given his 'mental capitulation'.

Anyway, where have all the Rossi fans that deluged this forum this time last year disappeared to?

Ridiculous power to the ground advantage for Ducati. For those worried about JLo next year, I think you have little to worry about. I am worried about MM, since the Honda continues to be the least able to get power down of the top factory bikes.

And why is Rins on a factory bike and Zarco on a satellite bike next year? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Straight line yes, but it's still a beast to muscle around a circuit like Valencia - and actually, the M1 clearly has superior drive out of the corners still...it's just, once the Ducati starts driving, it doesn't stop.

The Ducati very well may not accommodate the uncompromising and unorthodox way that Lorenzo has to set up a motorcycle to do what he did today. Also, in addition to this, I hadn't appreciated until now, how radically different his gearing appears to be.

Will be a different story next year for Ducati without the winglets. They're going to lose stability under acceleration. I wouldn't even worry about the Honda since they are rumored to have a big bang engine for 2017 that would go a long way to helping out their remaining inability to get power down. Mind you, compared to Losail in March, the RCV gets power down far far better than it did. Coming out of the final corner at Losail, the wheel spin was absolutely killing the acceleration. While still there, it's nowhere near as bad as it was.

Rins will be a bust, and I think Zarco may do alright, though I'm not terribly optimistic on him. Sam Lowes will be crashing quite a bit...I think Aprilia is going to regret that signing. The way all the top Moto 2 guys couldn't get anything done when Zarco was gifting points away has me leery about all of their prospects in GP. Rins being teammates with Iannone is going to not be good for him as I see Iannone doing very well as long as he keeps his head in check, and Rins doesn't have the speed to match him.

Same place they go every year when they realize there's no title to be had; hibernation.

No real loss. They never were fans of motorcycle racing.

Was a great race today to watch how hard the riders had to work to overtake on this circuit. Also provides a nice contrast to last year when everyone pulled over for Rossi. Not so easy to overtake there when everyone is no longer ceding him free positions.

The KTM has a long way to go. They were by far the slowest bike on the grid, consistently 2.5 seconds per lap down to the leaders in race trim. PE and BS will maybe be a half second faster than MK, making the bike 2 seconds down.

Next season is 199 euro's

Wtf do they need reference points, do their brain cells leak away after a race?

I think the reason so many just let him past last year was because they don't like Lorenzo regardless of their thoughts about Rossi's antics prior to Valencia.

I'm not a fan of Lorenzo he's either way out in front or a non runner/crasher. He doesn't IMO fight when things are lest than optimal.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. If it means to be a real fan you have to be a ...., I think I'll stick to not being a real fan.

Love.
