Misano Race Discussion

I watched the race last night and it was actually pretty good however typical. The Suzuki boys did well again and CV is riding very well. The power seems to be there on the GSVR now.

Rossi gets another win and barring total disaster on his part (or the bikes) he is again the champ, albeit, by the competitions attrition. Too bad it has to end this way with little or no competition but someone has to win. Next is Indy. I had plans to go all year but as the season has wound down and the Indy circuit has been unveiled I think I'll wait it out until next year. I just can't justify the cost to see a parade and seeing it will be difficult with all the buildings in the center of the track. Maybe Spain or Portugal next year....

I would recommend spain. As good as Portugal is, the viewing is limited and the atmosphere is not on the same scale.

In Spain I found the people generally unfriendly. They thought I was American because all I could say was "cafe Americano" because I didn't know Spanish and my wife wanted coffee with cream in it. And English was a no no pretty much everywhere signifying that you were either USian or from the UK both types not at all popular there. In Portugal, totally different. They act like they want you to be their with them and can talk to me. Tracks aside that is a big thing for me.

I found Spanish people more hospitable and friendly than Americans and Brits to be honest.

It was because of who they thought I was. What was I going to do explain the world to them and tape a map to my forehead? I couldn't even speak their language. Anyway, I didn't get to Barcelona and it is supposed to be more international there. I was on a kind of heartland tour and lots of those folks never met a foreigner in their life they liked.

Thank you gsfan. I´ve never been to a race in Spain so I won´t comment on the atmosphere question. However Estoril is one of the best tracks on the circuit, and if you sit in Bancada H or E you can see almost all of the track. In Bancada E you don´t get to see the finish line (padock in the way) but in Bancada H you can and its right on the final turn where most of the great passing takes place.

Come to Portugal it´s a great place to spend sometime!

Cheers

Vale was awesome this weekend, and the energy at Misano was unreal.

IMO if Vale had not been in second place, Stoner probably would not have fallen. Vale pressured him and he once again fell. I would have prefereeed a nice battle...

The only thing that bummed me out was was the huge cheering of the crowd when Stoner fell. We are close to Bologna here, the land of Ducati but also super close to Tavullia. Lame sportsmanship is what I saw...

But when Vale one the place erupted and it was great to be there. Tavullia later on was crazy as well.

Grande Vale...che spettacolo.
