Jorge could and should still win the title

JPS. Sure Carmelo would be pissed but creating a villain is the best thing for a sport. More people tune in to root for or against the protagonist. Did you see the ratings numbers for the patriots first game of the year. They were through the roof. People love to hate

But the Patriots still won the superbowl. Would as many have tuned in of there hadn't been all that drama? Jumkie wrote an interesting post a while ago about how all that was in fact conjured up for publicity and ratings.

Jumkie's world view is 50% potential conjured conspiracy, 40% absolute conspiracy, 10% possible real life.

Careful hitching to that wagon.

Buenos Aries, Argentina 1998. :ninja:

Jorge could indeed ram Rossi off the track, win the title - and who knows? Given a bizarre quirk of circumstance and an extreme dose of irony, may even end up in a cosy role as Safety Advisor to Dorna post retirement.

Makes me think of a driver who tried the same thing in F1, got disqualified and had all his points taken away.
Rossi being Rossi, I imagine Dorna would do that, after all he has been their biggest cash cow for the last 15 years.

i think anyone who owns a motorcycle, whether they watch motogp or not knows agostini & loves him. there's people i shoot the .... with that don't even watch motogp or know anything about it but know agostini. in fact they know agostini & don't even know rossi.

everyone loves him.

Eh?
Agostini was reviled in the paddock during the 80s and early 90s as a money-grabbing turd of a Yamaha manager. Lining his pockets at the expense of his riders.

Or get this, he could still win the title the way Marquez, Stoner and Lorenzo himself have previously, by whupping everyone elses arse.

Well obviously you don't.

Ask Lawson....he is the reason Eddie jumped to Kanemoto Honda for 89.

He seems affable enough. Though was in a coffee queue with him at PI. Seemed indignant that the Gippsland teenager behind the counter didn't show due deference by fawning and not charging him. Amused me, but I'm easily amused (hence my presence here)

She's a Seppo.
Ago is the reason Mladin ended up in Seppo-land and pwned their Superbikes for so long. The Seppo Mladin haterz should despise Ago.

It always seemed Mladin was content to be here in Seppo Land and that he never had any yearning to go International once he found his success in the AMA. Shame though. Even though he wasn't everyone's cup of tea, I would have liked to see what Yoshimura could have done on the world stage.

What guy knows his ....?

This guy.

Apropos emoticon lurking about in the shadows...but I'd doubt Jorge would subscribe to the school of Capirossi and resort to punting the Doctor. No, I don't believe he would.

I would taint JLo's title and career and legacy forever.......

How about if say Jlo got special concessions, like say exclusive tires, or the cause of the entire sport going to a single tire supplier whose development changed to suit him, or when he left a competitive manufacturer in a fit of conceit, prompting the League to coerce and bribed the manufacturer to take him back, would you consider his career and legacy tainted forever?

i will assume you ride, and that you may have had some hairy scary moments going around bends or at speed where you get it wrong......and suddenly you get a feeling that starts at your feet and rushes up your body to tell you take it easy.........My point is that if you've had that feeling then you would never advocate taking another rider out on purpose.....

Hasn't stopped Marquez, has it?

While some standards may have been 'dubious', no rider has deliberately crashed into another rider that i can recall in recent times...

How do you define "deliberate"?

For further reference, see Assen 2015

Another pissing contest, for Farck's sake. J-Lo's just as likely to release a picture of himself on twitter having an enchilada shoved in his ass by Bruclyn Jenner as run Rossi off the track deliberately.

LOL.....I am still waiting for that article showing that any coercion or bribery has taken place to bring any rider into MotoGP......nice to see your conspiracy theorist are now moving to include criminal acts....
.....or Perhaps are you referring to American Honda strong arming HRC/Repsol in taking the KY 'Jelly' Kid?

Hasn't stopped Marquez, has it?
Which Marquez since the both seem to be hard riders.....?

The one time I very much remember seeing a rider try take another out was this incident....

Maybe this thread should be a collection videos showing of rider allegedly running others off the track in MotoGP.....
