Jorge could and should still win the title

After watching "hitting the apex" - JLo is clearly the safety police. I doubt you'll see him purposefully shoving Rossi out of the way. Plus, he's timid in rain & if you battle too much with him on the track I feel like sometimes he backs off if he feels like it's becoming too aggressive & unsafe.

You might want to do a rewind and check out Lorenzo's epic battles with Rossi in his first two seasons. I'm not suggesting as Radha does that he Knock-Down Rossi... but he won't go easy.

That's all fine and good. But I haven't seen him as aggressive these more recent past years. And honestly, now with the last race & him crashing out, he got aggressive & impatient, crashed...doubt he'll do that again.

Kesh, did you not see that post? I know he used to be more aggressive than he is now. I don't need that much of a history lesson.

It is an inncorrect statement. Nice try ;)

Please expound on your answer. Perhaps you're being deliberately obtuse because you do not agree with the moral implifications of my original statement. Possibly you are taking my statement too literally. I'm sure there is one rider every few years or so that does manage to survive the war of attrition and by some extreme luck or divine intervention, manages to finish every race. The percentages of this happening are very low. You arguing against this reminds me of dumb and dumber where the girl tells Jim Carrey that the chances of them being together are one in 1 million and he rejoices because there is a 1% chance.

I'm not advocating that Lorenzo do this. I am saying that if he really wants to win a championship, this option is entirely open to him BECAUSE race direction has enabled a culture of reckless behavior

No offence. Wasn't sure how far back you went.:)

None taken, just read the whole thread before combating a statement. I may not have watched the sport forever, because honestly I was pretty young, but I have read/watched things to further my knowledge in the sport.

If J-Lo pulled a Michael Schumacher on Jacques Villeneuve in 1997...

...and won the title because of it, I have no doubt Carmelo would be running to the track with a loaded gun to shoot J-Lo in the head.

Then he'd follow that up by issuing a proclamation on a giant scroll, complete with the most vibrant, ruby red colored carpet underneath his feet, stating that J-Lo in death would be stripped of the world championship, and that Rossi would be declared 2015 champion.

They'd leave J-lo on the side of the track for the vultures to consume.

a little dramatic aren't we? :p

If I have to give you examples, you obviously have not been watching Marquez for his entire career. I can only assume you are one of those guys that paints every one of Marquez's collisions as a race incident.
Who's heads would roll? There's never been any significant repercussions for on track offenses in the GP class. Rossi has practically been canonized for punting Giberneau.

You're new here so I'll cut you some slack, but have a look at my post history and you'll see that you statement about my painting every one of Marquez' collisions as a racing incident.

What you missed in my statement was that there has so far been no high steaks collisions that Rossi lost out on. If, at a title decider, JL punted the mighty (in the eyes of Dorna and many others) VR off to win the title. Well as JPS says, I expact JLo would be left to the vultures and a Senna/Prost Suzuka 1990 episode would occur.

JL would be out of Yamaha instantly because I'm sure Dorna would pretty much tell them to fire him on the spot. It'd be a .... show...I wouldn't put it past them to run him out of the sport altogether. And most assuredly, he would be disqualified after the race.

JPS. Sure Carmelo would be pissed but creating a villain is the best thing for a sport. More people tune in to root for or against the protagonist. Did you see the ratings numbers for the patriots first game of the year. They were through the roof. People love to hate

oh blow dicks, if anything i'm sure dorna would never get ride of lorenzo like your little fairy tale story because that would mean there is no drama! and i'm sure dorna prefers ratings than killing off a character.

Thing is though Rossi is going for the major records now, and JL doing that would .... things up immensely. There's a lot of money to be made off of Rossi tackling Agostini's records.

Agostini's records sparrows...that matters more than a villain.

You underestimate it. Dude who owns the pizza place by me, you should see the look in his eyes when he talks about Giacomo Agostini. That dude is a ....... national treasure, and absolutely revered. .... look at his stats...it's insane.

i think anyone who owns a motorcycle, whether they watch motogp or not knows agostini & loves him. there's people i shoot the .... with that don't even watch motogp or know anything about it but know agostini. in fact they know agostini & don't even know rossi.

everyone loves him.

What I'm saying is this guy is Italian, he grew up with Agostini.

Far different from everyone else who was born long after he was done racing.

It's sort of like this.

Most people who revere the late Ayrton Senna were not watching when he raced, or were not even yet alive when he raced. It's a far different experience when you saw the guy race when he was alive as opposed to after the fact.
