I don't expect big things from Hopper or Edwards. Maybe they could each win a race. But Edwards will just never be up at the front in the championship, he simply isn't good enough.

Dunno about you Tom, but I like Edwards, I just thought he peaked when he was on the diesels.

Assen was his big chance, and it didnt happen I'd love to see him up front, but I dont see him doing it now.

your a poet ff!

Oh yeah i really like edwards, he is very entertaining and true nice guy. In the superbike days he was brilliant to watch and a very very high quality rider (he beat Bayliss). But regardless of the fact i like him, he isn't good enough. He plays the Rossi back up game well because he almost never takes points off him, but hes needs to be up the front more.

Am I???
That's the first time I've heard that..
I guess I have more talents than I first thought I had..lol..

Just too add, i think if you took edwards' riding ability and made it a little bit better, the result would be called Kenny Roberts JR.

because if he's not this season u can expect him to be gone in 08.

I think he is good enough it is just that he is not willing to push very far past his limits anymore. Mr. Edwards said that himself.

trouble is edwards is such a likable bloke i always hope he will get a few win's.mabe he did peak on the diesels but he is still made the biggest impression in gp out of the wsb riders excluding troys 1 win and 3 third place finishes. to be in the top ten in motogp is hard bearing in mind 90% of the field are capable of it,so to do it consistantle just shows how good he is

sounds like career suicide to me.

+1

And wasn't he given some kind of award for being so consistant during his MotoGP career, this past season?

No doubt Edwards is good, and one of the most likable out there, but we have been hoping for ages now. And i am loosing faith, his results have remained the same for 3 years. If he doesn't get a few noticable podiums this year he'll probably be joining max biaggi.

That's a new one. Hadn't heard this level of mindless cheerleading before. So titles fall on the winners "lap" now? Interesting. I'm sure you will get alot of support for this characterization of championships. I'm sure you won't get any flack from fair minded other fans of the sport who also happen to be Rossi fans. I wonder why the title decided to fall on the "lap" of Hayden and not "fall on the lap" of some other rider? Since titles are falling on "laps" now, perhaps their is hope for the back markers yet.

i realy dont want to go here yet again, but "fall in his lap" probably is a poor choice of phrase. lucky..yes earned it ..absulutly.. retain it..not a chance.

Not saying Hayden didnt fight hard all season. Just saying that if Rossi wouldnt have made a mistake by pushing to hard on the front end that things would have turnd out different.
You had me fooled. Can you also say, what if Pedrosa wouldn't have torpedoed Hayden, it wouldn't have been that close anyway. Or what if...

(Interesting that only two Rossi fan actually thought your comments where off line.)

Spoken like a true fan of the sport. And a true fan of the great and gifted Rossi. I can stomach rooting for your guy as long as you give props to the guy that earned his title. 07 is a clean slate, we will root for our respective guys, that's what fans do, but lets not try to rewrite history.
