I agree. You just don't find inconsistent world champions. IF Rossi had been more consistent he may have been world champion, but he wasn't, which supports my point quite well.

hahaha, Tinks, I think you proved Tom's point here. Not your point. Do you see why your rebuttal is actually a case for Tom's point? Or do you need some elaboration?

Right… Consistency… However, “Consistency” + “Conservancy” could equal “Boringness” which could equal F1!

Not that ’06 was boring at all, but we are approving and pushing it to much, every rider will be aloud to use that formula. Not consistently fast and consistently wining (or a least consistently pushing for the win) is what worries me about our ‘Not F1 Like’ Sport.

Another thinly veiled attempt. Ok, we get it, you don't like Hayden. Keep in mind though, “Consistency” + “Conservancy” does not equal “Boringness” (<u>unless of course its not your guying doing it</u>) but it does equal "Championship" and that, after-all, is the point of racing. Is it not? Perhaps you should become a fan of extreme sports, there is plenty of "Xcitement" there, and leave us alone to this "boring" MotoGP thing.

Not exactly, I do not mind Hayden; he is the champ to beat. But I used to love F1 back in the late 70’s and a bit of the 80’s… and now I look at what has happened to it. Therefore, would not like Melandri, Capirossi, Nakano, Tamada, or anybody winning by scarifying our exiting sport from now on…

where did he say he didnt like hayden ? you got those voices in your head again jumkie.?
and shoomy was consistant and a multi world champ and it was boring. i think our sport would end up like an f1 prossesion if every rider just looked for safe consistancy rather than brain out racing. i dont expect you to understand mate as i no you watch napcar.,

I think Shumis performance had much more in common with Rossis championships than Haydens. 2006 was one of motogp's most exciting years ever. Rossi (like Shumi) is usually consitently winning the mojority of the races in a season, which is way more boring and F1 like.

The difference being that this is not F1, so each race still has passing and entertainment in it. Plus Rossi is quite likeable.

But i wouldn't go suggesting Hayden is gonna make GP more like F1, its not gonna happen.

Moto GP can never be like F1, it's not possible.

Bike racing is inherently more exciting than car racing, name me ONE car sport that gives the thrill of watching a good Motogp/WSBK race.

Although Hayden was consistent, it was still the most exciting season we have seen for many a year.

British touring car racing used to be good, does that count?

For car racing it's good, I'll admit that.

But compared to bike racing it's as boring as hell, I fall asleep during most of 'em!

I find BTCC inconsistent, one week its close, the next Matt Neal is down the road & away. It's the ruthlessness of the drivers that make it interesting for me though, on the close weeks.

But nothing comes close to MotoGP, right now it's untouchable for action. The problem with F1 began when they started introducing penalties for racing incidents, now the drivers are all to scared to pass incase they screw it up & get banned. In F1 Pedrosa's "Estoril move" on Hayden or Elias' "Jerez bump" on Rossi, would have got them a ban or a fine. It's not the right way to go motor racing. IMO

i hate to give u the news but a riders/drivers consistency do not make a series boring. the guy's who write the rules do. fnone was dumbed down by the rule makers not the drivers. come on man bike racing could never be this boring

i hope so, but it doesnt help when fans scream for punishments for racing incedents like rossi /sete at jerez and hayden/padrossa at estoril.
honest racing mistakes, if a rider pulled up next to another and booted him off his bike than thats different matter.

ohhhh...... 100% AGREE!!!!!!

F1's problem isn't with drivers being careful and consistent (just look at Takuma Sato's tenure at BAR). The problem is that the cars are so advanced and so uneven that the driver can hardly make up for it. You won't see Raikkonen or Alonso make a Spyker or an Aguri competitive. Also, the F1 cars are so dependant on over body aerodynamics that the turbulence created by all those ugly widgets and appendages makes it difficult for the cars to run together. Although the bikes have become more important, the rider is still the big deal in Moto GP; as long as this holds true, Moto GP will be just fine.

jumkie was pretty fired up was'nt he! i have to agree that only if a rider blatently kicks, shoves or pushes another rider, that race control need to keep out of it. let em race!!!
