Rossi vs Pedrosa

"You can go to the left but to go to the line, and make the other guy go off the track at 300km/h, it's not the best thing," said Pedrosa.

When the comments were put to Rossi, he dismissed Pedrosa's argument.

"If he's not happy, he has to race alone," Rossi said. "This is what I think.

"Because everybody did the same to me when I want to overtake, especially on the last lap. But sincerely, exit of [Turn] 14, you always go to the left.

"Maybe I go one metre more. I don't know, maybe these riders think that they own the track."

I think its a fair move, but dirty. exactly like he did in Assen 2015.

Rossi was faster than Vinales for most of the race

Vinales was faster than Rossi for most of the season.

I love watching Vinales get friendly with his teammate, and I just enjoying messing around with everything Valentino Rossi's had said to his rivals in the past.

How good was Lorenzo today!
Good to see him gaining confidence in the bike now. As impressive as Dovi has been this year, he has had a few years on it and seen it develop. Completely new bike for JL who we all know needs a lot of trust in his bike. The late start to his pre season testing wouldn't have helped and I'm sure with a full winter's work this year he'll be a real contender in 2018.

Great performance by 93. It looked to me like once he realized he was in too hot past Rossi he just kept going past Lorenzo so he wouldn't crash and take one or both with him. Another great save of a near crash towards the end as well. I've got to hand it to him for being so willing to keep it on the edge, so far all season.

Not a fan and he has pulled so many dirty moves but I didn't see anything really overtly wrong with Rossi making himself wide with regard to Pedrosa.

Maybe it's not as egregious as some of rossi's dirtier moves and therefore I am excusing it.

At the same time, I can't remember Doohan, Rainey, Stoner or Lorenzo making themselves as big as a boat when racing for position with somebody faster coming by....

Rossi's remarks to Pedrosa, that's the pot calling the kettle black, funniest thing I heard all day. Rossi does have a sense of humor after all, just not the way he thinks he does.

Can it really be both? Maybe in the mind of the Valeban.

His style is exactly that. He has to keep it on the razor's edge. Too slow ... crash. Over the edge ... crash. On the edge ... MotoGP World Champion.

come on now ... take off the rose colored glasses

Dub and Jknock, you nailed it. Of course it's praiseworthy that Rossi is returning from a broken leg, but it's not exactly extraordinary in this context. At least not to the level the media attention will find ways to grandirossize it.

I expect a media tone similar to the one we just saw where the entire paddock was forced to comment on Rossi's training activity, this time requiring everybody to comment on their thoughts of returning so soon and how heroic or folly it may be.

Let's play a game:

Name the injury the rider had whilst racing and people try to guess the rider. I'll start:

Injury: broken back

(That seems rather severe right? Can you imagine the implications of re-injuring it?)

Is this GP riders only?

C'mon guys, the moto3 race was off the the hook. Joan Mir lay the smack down on 2nd & 3rd place. Would have love to see a move like that done on rossi.

I'm good with my glasses, they're not yellow.

Yes, a pass can be both legal, fair and dirty.

It's racing after all.

It is a kind of racing but it makes for a boring race when riders dont just ride to be fastest.
May as well watch greco-roman wrestling

JKnock's dream assed arrived.

Not far fm the marc. He does look a bit like Tom Brady

It's obvious Rossi was paying Pedro back for 2015. Rossi is the most vindictive on the grid. It was dirty. Rossi whined about riders racing him hard because he was a contender, his infamous unwritten rule, a total hypocrite slowing down 3 contenders today. After Aragon in 2015 he went over and chewed out Pedrosa for racing him so hard. Now he's talking .... that if Pedrosa doesn't like his dirty move he should race alone on the track. What a total ...... All the riders were ..... footing around Rossi today meanwhile Rossi was racing like he owned the track, to be fair, he does in a way own the sport. Marc and Viñalez took extra care to make clean passes hence why they struggled. Nobody wants to be the guy to be public enemy one.

Here's a question no reporter will have the balls to ask Rossi at the next press conference: Rossi, you paid a private visit to Pedrosa in 2015 because you were upset with him racing you so hard given you considered yourself a special right as a contender, have you now conveniently flipped on your opinion regarding racing contenders?

Rossi has lost tire wear in the closing stages of races with regularity. Suddenly everybody forgot he did this at Silverstone, but today the excuse was pain killers wearing off not the tires?

Rossi’s injury may have cost him 5% today, but it certainly did NOT effect his finishing order, without the injury he finishes 5th today.

There was a rider in Moto2 who's race was far more painful than Rossi's, his effort went pretty much un-noticed though. I'm sure a third of the MotoGP grid is riding with serious pain, discomfort, and certainly debilitating to their race. None of them however have the CEO of the series as their sport agent. Most people I'm sure have accepted it and moved on, I'd like to know when did Rossi on the factory M1 which was negotiated (coerced) and subsidized by Dorna become legitimate?

If you look at the Valencia Media Debrief from 2015 you'll see that Pedrosa himself, asked by a journalist, said that they didn't talk about nothing serious after Aragon.
“Maybe a joke on the podium, but nothing serious.”
