Sete has been forced to miss this weekends GP because he still has not recovered from his broken collarbone.

German rider Alex Hoffman will stand in for him again this weekend.

is that a prediction?

where you getting this info?

Am I the only one thinking Gibbers has underperformed this year and Ducati are using this injury as an excuse to give Hoffmann some training on the official Duke for a possible move next year?

May be, may be not. I'd go for the latter.

We could have managed a broken collarbone better than Sete, but in his profession, a broken collarbone is really a big deal. If my assumption is right, anything damaged on the torso area is a big deal for these riders.

Yeah Gibbers has had a tough go on the 2006 but I don't think Ducati are making preparations for Hofmann to move to the factory squad. They can attract much more talented riders than Hofmann. Hofmann just gives good feedback and is an easy fill in.

poor gibbers ... you really have to feel for him, he wanted to turn over a new leaf with ducati and it just hasnt worked for him

does anyone know how long the ducati contract is for ... 1 or 2 years?

My broken collar bone I've just had heeled in a few days, it wasn't a bad break but still...

Suspicious..

I'm pretty sure it was for 1 year. I don't think ducati is forcing anything to replace sete. it's just bad luck (just like last year...) maybe they let hofmann take his ride, because he's german and there's a big market in germany. can't believe ducati are giving hofmann a place in their team for next year, like ooost says, they can attract better, younger riders.

I heard during their summer break that Sete was due to have another operation on the collar bone and would miss the rest of this season.

This is very unlucky for Sete, who has had a very poor season, not one podium yet.

Still the Catalunya crash was very unfortunate and not his fault and I feel for him.

The report did mention that he should be passed fit for Sepang, so that should please Dribbles and the rest of the wedding party

Gibernau definately has under-performed this year but still, he's not on a Yamaha or Honda.

I'd phone the guiness book of records right away there carlos, you're a miracle of modern medicine

Sete has had the same collarbone plated before so it's not so striaghtforward. His performance has been average considering new bike/tyre combo.
