Sorry but you don't accuse your mechanics of abandoning you mid-season. You shouldn't do it at all.

These are the people that work through the night to get your car right for the next day.

These are the people that risk life and limb as you speed into them for a pitstop.

These are the people that stick with you through thick and thin.

This is your team. I find it hard to believe they would abandon Alonso, simply because they share that same passion, that same desire to win.

But Alonso doesnt see it that way. He didnt even show up to the championship party the mechanics threw for him last year.

Thats what I would call disgraceful. But each to their own opinion.

And by the way, a true champion makes the best of the situation. None of this equal terms ........, because that simply isnt possible. The fact is, the Ferrari was a better car than the Renault, so no matter what team orders Renault would have given, it would never truly have been equal terms.

I wonder if the same broohaha would have been kicked up had his passport not said Espana on it..

Alonso got screwed by his teammate?
<

Team orders make sports boring, Fisi should have been racing for himself, which he was.

I like Alonso, he's got amazing style behind the wheel....but if he upsets little Lewis next season, he'll have us Brits to answer to!

I did accuse his team, not Alonso, he's never had a bad word for one of his mechanics, not even after Hungary 2006. And by the way we're not talking about the mechanics, we're talking about the head of the team that makes the decisions.

I could say they're the same people that couldn't put a bolt in place costing Alonso a win at Hungary, or the same ones that double fueled him in Malaysia ... but that would just be as demagogic and irrelevant as your
comment since Alonso never criticized his mechanics.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>This is your team. I find it hard to believe they would abandon Alonso, simply because they share that same passion, that same desire to win.
It's simple, the team wants to win, their priority is themselves, the team, then the driver's. At Ferrari it doesn't work that way, the priority is Michael's run for the championship and then the team. Thats the only thing that Alonso complained about. An example of that is the US GP, Alonso was ahead of Fisi, but Fisi was faster, the team told Alonso to move aside and let Fisi through, which he did. Have you ever seen MS moving over for a teammate in the last 7 years??? No!!!!
It's hard enough to fight against MS, the FIA and Ferrari to furthermore having your teammate not helping at all.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>But Alonso doesnt see it that way. He didnt even show up to the championship party the mechanics threw for him last year.
That is ......... AFAIK he attended every celebration he's been requested. And of course that includes the 2005 championship party of the team held in Brazil after the GP.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>Thats what I would call disgraceful. But each to their own opinion.

Fine, I wonder if that's disgraceful, where does it rank, getting thrown out of a strip club for showing your willy to the strippers while drunk?

Equal terms from the strategic point of view, of course the performance of the car is out of the equation, that's something the driver has to cope with.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE <div class='quotemain'>I wonder if the same broohaha would have been kicked up had his passport not said Espana on it..
I'd like to think so, I've defended other non-Spanish drivers like Button or Monteiro from ........ lies in an F1 forum.

Ok ok stop now people...I thought it would be the kids on here (including me) arguing over something silly like this, not adults.

At least you have old F1 dvds to entertain you!

I have none...my life's a big drought without the races
<

I haven't got a single taped race or F1 DVD in my house! 3 months will flyyyyyyy byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Me too, but nowhere near as much as im looking forward to MotoGP. I used to look forward to both equally, but nowadays F1 is just nowhere near MotoGP in terms of skill or excitement. MotoGP is the real ....

Interesting subject you've brought up there Tom.

I think Moto GP has more thrill to the race itself and the action than Formula 1 but the grandstand packed crowds and fans of Formula 1 make the atmosphere more 'buzzing' and I cringe when the start of a F1 race comes whereas I don't when a Moto GP race start happens...I don't know why this is. (Especially after i've seen what can happen at a race start, Catalunya 06).

I think that has something to do with 'bernievision'. The boffins who run the F1 TV feed seem to do a lot better job at transferring atmosphere to the viewers than the ones at MotoGP do, they need to mess with the sound and stuff so the atmosphere and tension is better felt. I don't think MotoGP is lacking in atmosphere, far from it. Mugello, Assen, Sachsenring, Catalunya, Donington etc are prime examples.

Hy again! Capirex brother is back!
I prefer more Formula 1 than motogp because was first i see it. Some where in 1992. I was a Senna Fan (have 9 years old) and very sad by the death of the biggest driver in formula 1. After Senna i became a Schumaher fan. Now I'm a little bit sad because he said goodbye to formula 1.
I'm still a Ferrari fan but i don't like the pilots Kimi Raikkonen or Massa.
I dislike Alonso and i hope any other driver will win this new season.
I will watch Kubica because i think have potential to be in few years the new champion on Formula 1.
I agree that Moto Gp is more attractive than formula 1 who became very boring in last years saved in part of 2006 season. This season will be a fight between Ferrari and Renault. I think honda has no chance this season. not even for the 3rd place. McLaren or Toyota will challenge this place. But let's see.

You have right i was sad and i still I'm when i think about this tragic event. I wonder if Senna was still alive what could happened in this years of Formula 1.
Sorry for this i will try to be more accurate in future.

Don't worry about it mate, at least you can speak another language.. I did two years of Spanish and know nothing

This is a very friendly forum (well, most of it) and we are very understanding (at least, I hope we are

).. English is by no means an easy language.. as Kiyonari proves

I was only 4 years old when Ayrton died so I don't really remember it.. but like most MotoGP fans I was in a similar state of shock when Daijiro Kato died in 2003.. It left me scarred.. and changed the way I look at Suzuka and other racing circuits.. Cadwell park makes me cringe now

I'm only 15 years old so I didn't watch Senna race but I believe he was one of the bst around. I've bought his biography - but haven't started reading it yet as i'm reading FOGGY by Carl Fogarty first. I recommend it to you though especially if you were a die hard Senna fan - the book is packed with pages and photos.
