Mclaren and tyres going pop...sounds familiar?!

Raikkonens tyre didn't fail, he flatspotted his right front and the vibration tore the suspension to pieces. We can't even be sure Hamilton's crash was any kind of tyre failure, Martin Whitmarsh said it was some kind of failure on the wheelgun.

Anyway, its never nice to see a crash like that, but I have to confess I was nowhere near as worried about Hamiltons crash as I was about Kubica's, you could see him moving freely after the accident. It was strange he didn't get out of the cockpit straight away, so it seemed he had a broken or fractured leg (which even a broken leg, with an impact like that, imo should be considered a lucky escape). Good to hear hes not injured. He wasn't knocked out in the impact so the only real reason he'd not be allowed to race tommorow was if he suffered a concussion, and it doesn't seem like he did.

Dennis said the accident was probably caused by a faulty wheel gun which failed to tighten a nut on the McLaren's right front wheel.

"We were quite fortunate to be honest because the wheel nut on Fernando's car was not properly tightened either," added the team boss.

First of all: I'm happy to see that hammie is okay, and that was really a terrible crash. I hope he would be allowed to race, but if he's not really fit to race, that's okay.

Now: KIMI ON POLE!
<

here's hoping to a great race later. Kimi for the win!

THIS IS PRICELESS!
They zoom in on two cars that crashed, then another one joins them, then another, then another, then another
<

Something like twelve cars out after three laps! Marcus Winkelhock is leading the race
<

I should explain, it started raining heavily something like ten seconds after the lights went out
<

OMG OMG OMG!!!!

THis is INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<

I love it!!!!

Gonna watch again...

So lets summarise:
Marcus Winkelhock in his first race, in the Spyker, qualified last and is currently first.
Liuzzi, Fisichella, Hamilton, Sutil, Raikkonen, Heidfeld, Rosberg, Coulthard, Speed and others have crashed, but all have been returned to the track except Button I think, who had damage to his car.
Red flags are out and everyones changing tyres for the second time in four laps, in some cases the third time.
They're all on the grid still, the sun is shining on the grid and its pouring with rain on the other side of the track so they're all confused.

I've never seen anything like it, i almost chocked on my breakfast when it got really hectic!!

As exciting as that was though i am glad they stopped the race so they can do it again properley.

Did Raikkonen crash?
I didn't see that. He should have come in first, that would have been better.
Now he's 7th I think.

Cant wait for the re-start!!

I think Raikkonen slid somewhere, not sure if he lost control. Race due to start in ten minutes, rain due again in twelve

It was fun for a short while, but now I just want to see a normal race where people actually finish and dont crash every single lap!!!!!!!

Suddenly F1 got interesting again! Maybe they should pump water on the track at dry races
<

Did you see the saftey car get the hell out of the way!! Pricless.

Gald no one was hurt mind, could have been really bad news - especially for the marshalls running on track when they were still piling down into the gravel.

KIMI OUT!!!!

I can't say I'm surprised, after all this is Germany, he always has some kind of ''bad luck'' here.
<

I'm kinda pissed off atm, I thought he still had chances to win the title, but now all my hope is gone
<
<

Hope the rest of the race if ''fun''

That was thrilling, i was just praying for it to rain in time for Alonso to win, and he did brilliantly! Hamilton made a bad tactical call, so a bit of a shame for him.

Overall i am happy but i feel sorry for Kimi, the championship is all but a dream now and i am disappointed about that.

At which point do you think Hamilton's bad tactical call was?

That was a well deserved win for the Spaniard, I'm happy for him.
He's only two points behind Lewis now (who for the first time this season didnt score any points). I think FA has the biggest chance to win the title. Great to see him fight back!!!

Massa did a good job as well, he's closer in the championship again, he has 7 points more than Raikkonen.

Obviously I'm really really disappointed with Kimi's result, again a DNF!!
<

But that's racing I guess. It's a shame really, cause he was fast all weekend, would have loved to see what he had done in the race. Oh well, next time better.

Btw, did anyone hear what FA and Massa said to each other??? Didn't look too friendly.
